Default Ipswich Cup Day...ect

Race 1.
I see alot of people jumping off Bohemian Dancer here..i must admit i did last start where he chased a smart one home.. ..but has a good barrier and this race should be run to suit...theres no Wishart here and he might be nice value as i'm sure they'll come for Imperialism and Smart Chariot and even doonan dancer..
a bit of a bolter in this is Crimson Gown..will be huge odds and if the track is good could surprise..has no weight and has a good record track and distance..Yamazaki is a good jockey whos very familiar with the track.
will be hoping for about anything above 8's for Bohemian Dancer and write your own odds about Crimson Gown.
Race 2,
Not intersted this race..if i had to have a go..Maybe Gloucester Rd who will be suited by the pace and is in good form..
Race 3,
Beer time.
Race 4,
Keep drinking but Any suggestion will be hard to catch around here.
Race 5,
I'm not totally convinced about Wasimah.....she's had such good runs that might flatter her form ..
I thought Au Chocolate had a big chance here ..gets in with no weight has a good barrier and looked good last start...i dont see much speed in this race so she'll be close to them and is worth a chance at double figure odds..
I like Fluffy Courage aswell..this horse has good form down south and has had no luck in her 2 runs up here..she'll be flying late..but i'm worried alittle about the tempo..
will concentrate on these 2 .
thought Charmview was excellent last start ..making up heaps of ground on a day where backmarkers struggled....but i can't pick them all
Race 6.
Sir Breaky looks to good here..should get the nice sit behind Sovereign and Uncle Shamos and peel out and be to strong....no value though..
If Uncle Shamos had drawn a better barrier he'd be a show in this..he's very underated and will still give good sight out in front..
Tellem was unlucky last start and has a good jockey on board,,,thats the thing in this race..Sir Breaky runs the risk of getting boxed in alittle around the turn and if Tellem can pinch a break he'll win this..
It looks like i might get 10's about tellem and thats real good value..
hard race....might keep Uncle shamos safe if he's nice value..
I'm risking that Daunting Lad again...so it will probably win
Race 7.
cant find anything to beat Natural Blitz here..looks to good for these...
watch for a move by Make me a Miracle mid race to try and pinch it...
maybe him and Volksini to add some value to the tris..
Race 8.
Go home early.

Sydney
Race 2
Like Sweet Ransom here..great run last start and should win this..the 7's in the paper look excellent value..but will be half that tomorrow.
Race 3.
Seems people underestimate Cellar Edition...has no weight again and i'm not convinced about Steflara who will be fairly short..
Race 4.
I've been on Intermoo lately and with the claim looks good again..i 'm not convinced he can handle the 1800m and i'm also worried that Simons Comet will get a soft lead in this and if he does they wont catch him..a bolter in this is Blue Lyric,,,has been working the house down and although prefers it longer still has a good chance to grab a place..
I might have an e/w about Blue Lyric and because of my dont jump off rule i'll have to have something on Intermoo.
Race 5.
So Assertive is idealy placed here...fought on well last time after doing alot of work at the start....i like him alot...have never backed xlerate but if he's going to win it would have to be this one..
Hope to get maybe 7's for So Assertive....wishing i think..
Race 8.
Will back the best Maiden in the Country here..Wencelas Square..he should of won last start easily..and i think the outside barrier will suit as he'll get back anyway....
not convinced about Micasa...thought he fell in last start...Lancaster Park should of beaten him..
Like Wenceslas Square and looking at nice double figure odds..
will back Lancaster park as well..
Melbourne
Race 3
Saladare looks good here...has no weight and was unlucky last start...D Moor is flying at the moment and she looks a good thing here..
Adelaide
Race 2.
Areated is right in this..flew home last start..he's a risk at the distance but should get a nice run ...will hope for 6's
Race 3.
DuaWalli race just the other day..i like following these types..he must be flying.,,and the conections are super confident....might even get 6's as Some Kinda Storm looks like he'll be short.
race 4
Oakwood all day.
race 5.
Cool Response although up in grade is flying..hoping for some value though..
Race 6.
One at huge odds in this is Cellay...good run last start..But Jillimarg looks hard to beat...back them both..
Gold Coast.
rear Admiral owes me ...is suited here and should win...

suppose to be a quite day for me,,,i'm on a bit of a roll and have so many bookers running its hard not to have a go..wont back everything listed as i doubt i'll get the odds i'm hoping for but if a couple of these 50/1 shots get up it'll be my shout at the public bar ...
Good luck All

Ipswich

Race 1: probably a no bet race for me but looking at the race I would be looking at Bohemian Dancer he is drawn well and weighted to well to leave out. Doonan Dancer drawn to get the run of the race which is a huge bonus around this tight track. Elendil would be my 3rd pick take no notice of his last start was wide and never saw cover from the wide barrier I think they might try and snag him out the back and hope for some luck should be good odds to. I wouldn't leave Star of St.Covet out of your triffectas either was a good run last start just a matter of whether he wants it a bit further now.

Race 2: Hard race again Dream'n'Scheme looks as though it is well weighted with the 3kg claim the draw might hurt his chances more than anything. Countess Bathory would be an obvious pick especially with McKeon's claim the only trouble is she might get to far out of it to win around here.

Race 3: Aladdins Lion was a horse I was giving a bit of an e/w chance in the Magic Millions only it didn't make the field if they take a sit on him this time it will go very close here, Amarezetti is a classy horse who looked like it needed that run first up should be fitter this time and is drawn well with a top jockey on board would be surprised if he doesn't go very close. Song of Dubai could be another smart one coming along and he might just be able to give the other 2 a bit of trouble.

Race 4: I liked the way that Persuades hit the line behind Florilegium last start if she can find a good spot in running just off the speed I think she can go one better here. Crystal Wit could be classy enough to win this first up but 15 alley isn't going to do it any favours what so ever I'd say place would be best from that alley. Testify is the other I would include here been running some good races being trained by one of the best in queensland I think this could go well.

Race 5: Au Chocolat is not a horse I particularly like all that much but is drawn beatifully and weighted well to give this a real good shake, Charmview will be charging late if she gets a clear run then she will go very very close to taking this one. Deep in the Woods hasn't been a bad horse in melbourne and it might have enough speed out of the gates to get over and sit behind Wasimah think if it can get there then it will be in it for along time the other one I like is Kind Spirits on her day she can fly home and she has shown a liking for this track in the past.

Race 6: I really like Top Marc here he is a very good horse and he is drawn beautifully here might be able to sit just behind the leaders a little bit of rain wouldn't go a stray either, Sir Breakfast and Tellem look to be the next hardest to beat aswell as Beatiful Gem I will probably just be settling on Top Marc e/w anyway.

Race 7: There is plenty of speed in this one which should turn it into a true staying test Anne Carinna will go to the lead and going on her last run she will be in it for a very long time, Motivate will be charging late and has no weight on his back with the likes of Volksini and Forest Jim. I think that Natural Blitz might struggle to win this with the weight he has he is a very good horse on his day just feel that he is conceding far to much to some of these. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kajema, Desert Flight and Classic Karla in the finish aswell.

Race 8: Early finish today not a fan at all of this race

I was listening to Radiotab this morning and they were suggesting that for Ipswich today, you should possibly look for horses which had raced at the track before. Well, there were only 4 horses in the Cup which had raced at Ipswich previously: Classic Karla, Forest Jim, Motivate & Sailor's Lark. Sailor's Lark was little or no chance, but the other 3 were not impossible to find and the trifecta paid $1514!!!

No, I didn't have it.

Thanks Guys

A great day with my best results on Saladare, Cellar Edition and Rear Admiral (phew that was close) and a couple of tris ...

Didnt have a stack on Bohemian Dancer and Au chocolate but still a good result ..wanted better odds though and was conservative..
actually had something on Gloucester Rd aswell...and i was thinking i might of missed the boat..if i had even bet my usual i would of been ahead after only 2 races ...and then i could of just sat back and drank and cheered them all home all day...

Lost a stack on Sweet Ransome ..seems as thought the distance stops her..
had a big go at Tellem as well,,,havent seen the video yet ..but was dissapointing..
Don't even want to think about Sydney Race 4....exactly what i predicted happened with Simons Comet and all i had on was a saver...frustrating ..but intermoo can definetly run the 1800m...liked blue lyric aswell..

Cool response , Cellay , Aerated and Duawali were so close but yet so far...great run by Cool Response ..got smashed and still finished well.
frustrating day in Adelaide except for Oakwood and a couple of nice place divies...

So Assertive is gone...lets please have a minutes silence....he's just past it now..i said that last start and should of listened to myself..

Wenceslas Square...well he was just behind a wall of horses with nowhere to go ...he had heaps to offer...he owes me for 2 starts now...i know some that have followed him for ever....he'll win and will be nice odds when he does..

Great day today..the roll continues...and a special thanks to Raw for giving me Kind Spirits....
also hope you got the Cup...you mentioned Forest Jim and motivate and classic carla..
wow you think i had a good day Raw might have of had an even better one..
if he listened to me with Volksini....nice 1st 4...

Have a few bookers running tomorrow ....going to keep going hard atleast till i have a losing day...might as well take advantage of this arsy run while it lasts..

Beers are on me and Raw if he jagged the cup...

ps..didnt even know about Rocky today....dont know for sure but might of jagged the winner and Magrite ..almost bought this horse at a recent sale..has good staying bloodlines and in this would of been a good e/w..
oh well....to much going on down here...

certainly not a terrific day for me the cup was such a hard race I got the quinella but missed the tri leaving Classic Karla out in favour of Volksini who I also liked I didn't have a go at the 1st 4 but I sure as hell wish I did now would have gotten it for sure. What could have been one of those days where things almost fell into place but not quite. I had a big go at Kind Spirits only a small bet though for the place also had it and Charmview for the exacta @ $20 which would have been a terrific result if it wasn't for Au Chocolat getting in the way I got off of it because of the odds thought it was badly unders.

Congrats Mav it is nice when you get those days.

As far as the Rocky Cup missed the race wanted to back both Legal Brief and Kohnray Star problem was lost track of time and the missus wanted me to get the clothes off the line which I duly let her know cost me money. I actually backed Margrite in the cup here last year and had a good long look at it today aswell paying $11 for the place was ridiculos for it in that race.

Know how you feel Mav, have backed him last 3 starts now. Disagree about when he wins it will be at nice odds, they will probably put him in a maiden or class 1 race at Gosford with a big weight and win paying $1.50 knowing my luck

Well done today btw, i think we must have been reading each others thoughts regarding the winners we backed, I backed Bohemian Dancer, Gloucester Road, Cellar Edition, Simon's Comet, Aerated, Dua Awali, and had one bet outside of the metro meetings and you guessed it, it was Rear Admiral
