Betfair is changing - Email from Betfair
I'm not sure if this affects anyone except maybe traders here in Australia as the lag to the UK was the problem for me when I tried to trade the UK markets whereas the Aus markets were fast when I used to trade.
Anyway, the email I got from Betfair is below: Betfair (Australia & NZ) is about to complete an exciting transformation project designed to enhance the wagering experience of our customers. This will result in the following key changes: Removal of the Aus Wallet Migration of unsettled, matched Aus Wallet bets to the Main Wallet (unmatched bets will be cancelled) Currently, Betfair (Australia & NZ) operates Australian and New Zealand markets on technology located in Tasmania and licensed and regulated by the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission. As part of this transformation project, Betfair's Australian and New Zealand markets will move to state-of-the-art technology on the Global Betfair Exchange in the UK. This will enable greater technical reliability and capability. As part of this, Betfair (Australia & NZ) will operate under a new licence issued by the Northern Territory Racing Commission. These changes are scheduled to take effect on 20 September 2016. After this date all wagering will occur via the Main Wallet. Any funds remaining in your Aus Wallet will be transferred to the Main Wallet for you. This change and all others have been summarised below. One Wallet - Removal of Aus Wallet All wagering will now be available via one wallet, the Main Wallet, once the transformation is complete (scheduled for 20 September 2016). This means there will be no need to transfer funds between wallets to place bets on Australian and New Zealand markets. When this change takes effect your funds will be consolidated into your Main Wallet for you. (PLEASE NOTE: Your Australian Wallet may still appear when you're logged in, however, it will not be operational) Futures/Antepost Markets Long term markets (futures/antepost) on Australian & New Zealand events that are live now and settle after the migration (scheduled for 20 September 2016) will be suspended and migrated to the Global Exchange. The Main Wallet will be used for the settlement of these markets and they will be regulated under Betfair's licence issued by the Northern Territory Racing Commission. This means customers with matched bets on these markets should not experience any changes besides those bets being transferred to your Main Wallet. However, unmatched bets will be cancelled and those customers will need to place these bets again if they choose. For any disputes under the Northern Territory Racing Commission, please click here. Bet History for bets that have been migrated to the Main Wallet will no longer be located within the Aus Wallet area. These bets and all future bets will be found within the Main Wallet section of the Bet History.

Just a reminder this happens Tuedsday at approx 4pm.
For those who use the API you only need to change a few minor things. 1. Use Marketfilter to restrict country codes to AU/NZ for Aus. 2. Change Endpoint to only use Gloabl endpoint 3. Remove all calls to Aus Wallet. Hopefully all the changes go well and its a smooth transition. Yes it will be slower then the Australian endpoint so take this into consideration as well. The Exchange migration is now complete
As per betfair email below: Betfair (Australia & New Zealand) has now successfully completed the migration to the Global Exchange and we thankyou for your patience during this time. All markets are now operating out of the Global Exchange and Betfair Australia and New Zealand customer activity is now regulated by the Northern Territory Racing Commission. In addition, the Aus Wallet is no longer operational and all bets are now managed via the Main Wallet. Any customers' funds that were in the Aus Wallet prior to the migration have been moved to their Main Wallet. (Please be aware, when logged in to the websites the Aus Wallet may still be visible, however it will no longer be operational and all bets will now be managed via the Main Wallet) For customers who have previously accessed Betfair's Australia and New Zealand markets via the Australian API endpoint, will now need to use the Global Exchange API endpoint. For more info, click here. Please note: All unmatched bets in futures markets that have been migrated to the Global Exchange (view these here) have now been cancelled. Customers will need to place these bets again if they choose to. |
