Default Eagle Farm Saturday

Race 1.
Was hard for me to seperate Rue the Saint , Tackman and Lord Rupert.
I settled on Rue the Saint mainly on his run 2 starts back..he probably should of won that race ,,and Devastating and Bohemian Dancer form isn't bad at all.it was to short for him last time and he should get the nice tempo set up by Cold Start...Lord rupert is as honest as they come and Tackman is flying as well...I'm not a fan of McKinnon ..as this is my only reservation..but i think he's ready here and should be nice odds as i think some punters would of given up on him..
looks a easy tri...2,3,4,9

Race 2.
Looks a non betting race...Lachlan River should win this and maybe Coalesce to prove a nuisance....but he'll be short..Planagram will set the tempo up for Lachlan and Coalesce but i have a therory Pengally won't be to hard on Lachlan as he's got bigger plans down the track...Maybe Beale St at odds could surprise ...he's been running on very well,,the distance suits so will the tempo but i'm not very intersted ..
might have a play tri with these three..

Race 3.
I don't like Daimyo as he seemed to just fall in last start. and he was ridden for dear life...Just the Star looks the class here..just not totally convinced ...he might need the run so i might gamble with him....
I dont mind Rosimia at odds..the trainer isnt a dreamer and is jumping this filly in class.love the breeding ...fantastic run last start where it was just eating up the ground..thought Piccolo who had some support last start could improve..
Rosamia at odds e/w..

Race 4.
Mesmorizing looks hard to beat..was first up over 1350 and now goes to the 1400m second up..Laming knows his stuff,,he's going to be short .but with Cahill on board looks to have it on this lot..
Bay Owl did well last start and has been in fine form up north...
Your Lion eyes, Bertha and Rejuvanate lass for the multis
Bay Owl is 13's in the paper at those odds is a good e/w
I think if you take out Mesmorizing its very open..there doesnt seem to be much speed in the race but that shouldnt worry Mesmorizing as he wont be to far off them..

Race 5.
Was on Imprisioned 2 starts ago and knocked him last start over the 1200m...back to the 1000m here and will be hard to catch..I'd love to tip Poetic Papal who's been working the house down but the weight scares me alittle....he runs well fresh and will get the speed here from Iprisioned that will suit..also has the good barrier and Jockey.likes the track..ok i've talked myself into him..
thought Bunsen Honeydew a good place chance at odds and the ever consistant Panzer to be around the money aswell..don't leave out Golden Fox in the multis..i like this horse and the trainer but i think drawing out and first up will be hard for him..to good a horse to leave out completely..

Race 6.
Very open race this one...could tip 10 horses here..
Went looking for a run on horse with a good barrier,,,came up with Blue Oyster but i dont have a jockey for him so he might not be running or maybe they are waiting to see if Colless can ride the weight ....if he does i think has a good chance here...they know the trick to this one now...ride him cold and let him fly....if he is scratched Snick whos been ultra consistent up north and with the good barrier and jock has a show..he wont get to far back either and will put himself in the race..
Arrowsweep and Limarki good chances aswell..
tough race..

Race 7.
Love Blank Ink ..will get a mile back again..but this horse could make it down south in some good races...runs the flashy sectionals..
wont be easy for him and its always heart in your mouth stuff with these backmarkers....written By Xaar did the job for us last time and will prominent again...
tropiqualo who should get the nice sit is a big chance..
will look at these 3...wont take anything to short about Black Ink ..but i like him..

race 8.
Another open race....was on Stood up last time in and he was very unlucky..he goes up in weight but down in class here and will be ver hard to beat...thought at odds Miss La Tar could run a big race..great run from amile back last start and has one of my favourite jocks on board..

As you can see i'm not super confident on anything on a day that looks fairly tough..
Mesmorzing , Black Ink , Stood up and Poetic Papal are my more fancied bets at this point...

Good luck

Other state selections

Sydney
*Midnight City, *Mahtoum, *Paulini, *Deuxieme
have some roughies here..looking e/w and having a play with trifectas ect..Paulini will like the extra distance....Dizelle and Lotteria the obvious in the others but i doubt they'll be any value at all..
Melbourne
*King's Arch, *Catscan,*Emerald Jack
in the Dubai i'm going wide with the plays ..Roman Arch in the wet is a tough old thing that could stick on well in this ..was on OER last week and swear if the the jock goes inside she wins...both treated nicely at the weights..i'll be having an e/w...Niconero ,Calveen, and Barely a moment in the mix..
always value in the exotics in the big races..
Adelaide
*Hillfa, *Pray Silence, *Lady Chorister
The Punting club will back Merlot now...but Super Elegant looks to hard to beat..but we'll be backing Merlot as we have done in every one of his starts..
thought Pipkin will be hard to beat but unders..might be tempted into Open Cut..depends how i'm going..
Kembla
*Evaporized, *Belhari, *Ledger
Kalgoolie
*Jungle Jazz
Gold Coast
*The New Black, *Tea Biscuit, *Beamer
Belmont
*Foxaround, *Scenic Assault (probably both to short)
New Zealand
*Shinzig, *Scenic Pete

Wow a stack of races..will be busy tomorrow..need to cull a few of these but as usual scratchings , price or track conditions usually take care of a few..
limit 20 races..
Good luck all and lets hope theres a Lord Of Lauriston there somwhere...

MY tips for tomorrow (sorry no explanation) just to see how i go

Race 1: Rue the Saint
Race 2: Laughlan River (think thats a special)
Race 3: Picabelle
Race 4: Bay Owl
Race 5: Star Groom
Race 6: Arrowsweep
Race 7: To many i think could get up in this one. Im going to go with an outsider Video Hits (won 2 from 3 second up so might be a chance) also like Black Ink, Tropiqualo, My Best Tycoon and Scottish Reaver. Hopefully i can pick a winner out of those
Race 8: Wheel the Lead

Good luck tomorrow

Melbourne

Race 1: Ready to Mambo 5's or better would be appreciated.
Race 3: Desert Marauder I always liked this horse and it is only very lightly raced don't be surprised if it runs a good race
Race 6: Confectioner just looks very had to roll here if Sir Dex had drawn a barrier I would have been all over him I do think that Shes justa a tad will run a good race to.
Race 7: Calveen should have won last start will make amends tomorrow
Race 9: Moscow Ballet thought his was a very nice run last start might be ready to show something.

Sydney

Race 5: Presently has come back in imaculate form will go very very close.
Race 6: Power of Destiny would have gone very close with a crack at them last start might just make amends tomorrow.
Race 8: Portland Singa not sure if she can win this but worth and e/w ticket was a tremendous run 1st up without being pushed has gone ok 2nd up in the past aswell.
Race 9: Utzon has been one of i have followed recently and would think tomorrow would suit him to a tee Danni Martine big big danger ready to win tomorrow I think.

G'day Mav,

Not the greatest day in Brisbane tomorrow....but we can only work with what we've got...Bit of rain around will complicate matters too

Race 1 - Depending on what Leader of The Pack does, speed might be an issue with Cold Start being the only established leader. For that reason, with no weight, i can't see any reason why Cold Start can't do what he did last run - lead all the way. Some of these find it hard to win, so winning form might be the way to go. This is Lord Rupert's best distance (never been out of a place) and will be running on and maybe Tackman for a place, he should be close enough to them at the right time.

Race 2 - No Bet race. Lachlan River is classy but with the weight, the prep ahead....theres just too many variables. Too many to be sucked into the prohibitive odds they'll be betting anyway. Planagram seems to be the speed and could be a chance. Coalesce is a nice horse on the way up, might need some more ground though.

Race 3 - Not a bad 3yo race here, with a few promising types. Daimyo has been running some good times over 1000 of late, and can race on pace which might put him in good stead for this event. Hardrock Diamond has done nothing wrong in his 2 starts to date (beating Shanambah at his first) and can figure. Just The Star promised a lot last campaign.....but things just didn't seem to go her way, with adequate speed.....she'll be coming late.

Race 4 - Mesmerising should win this. If she runs up to her last effort, it'll take a good one to stop her. Wide the trip, and was taking ground off Canadian Shuffle at the death. From the 5 with Cahill in the saddle, she should get a beautiful run. Rejuvenate Lass has a horror draw but has ability and can place with some speed on....Partridge at huge odds was seen getting to the line OK last time, and might improve ridden a touch closer. Will improve after the 1st up run too.

Race 5 - Good sprint race. Imprisoned is a speedy fellow, but may not get his own way out in front. Masindor and Star Groom can go hard themselves, as can Levante. For That reason i think Poetic Papal can go very close here. He ran some really good races over the carnival up here and from the good gate, will secure a good run. Golden Fox is the query. Quality horse. If he's fit and ready, he'll go close for sure. Imprisoned must be included because of the 1000m win of his earlier on this campaign, when he clocked 56.4. Only good ones do that...

Race 6 - Tough, tough race. Arrowsweep ran a big race last time to win, and wil appreciate the speed in the big field. Limarki with the light weight has just kept on winning, so you can't fault that. Blue Oyster might not run, but if he does must be considered a big chance on the 3yo form he's got.

Race 7 - Good field here. Black Ink is a strong chance if the speed is on, but he will be back a long way....especially with the bad gate. My Best Tycoon will appreciate the weight drop and the good alley is a huge plus. Tropiqualo has been very consistent lately and shouldn't be left out. Lot of other chances here though.

Race 8 - Stood Up is the one here, i think. Big run last time, scratched last week for some reason, but the good alley should help him secure a good run. Nothing wrong with the win of A Fairy's Kiss last time, will get the good run here. Miss La Tar got to the line very nicely in the A Fairy's Kiss race and should appreciate the long Eagle Farm straight.

Best would be Mesmerising with a value hope given to Partridge.

Good luck all

Sven

Ledger at Kembla a super dooper special.

Might throw a few shorties into a multi:

Tick By (sydney)
Mesmerizing (the farm)
Super Elegant (Morph)
Ledger (Kembla)

I reckon thats a pretty good chance.

Race 3; See it exactly like Mav. [5] Picabelle, only beaten 2.3L behind a race fit Daimyo first up & positive jockey change today. Won 3 at Rocky. [4] Rosamia, nice run first up, consistent & beaten 1L behind Diamondsondinside two back. [1] Just the Star looks the class heh? Beat Virage de Fortune by 2.5L & finished 3L of her at G3 level. I'll take a tri in this race, take on Daimyo & hopefully it'll be around $2.50.

Race 4; both Mesmorising & Rejuvinate Lass are tight in the market, with the Lass drawn quite wide & might race without cover & some query over 1400m. I'm praying speed is on & [10] Bertha gets a nice run at odds. On 7 day back up, down in class on that run & 2 nice wins before that.

Race 5; Hopefully Levante & Star Groom make nuisances of themselves & put pressure on Imprisoned. [5] Golden Fox looked a promising type as a 2yo, if right looks well placed enough. [1] Poetic Papal for a place.

Race 7; [12] Nice Surprise has some strong Sydney form. Looks a good tri race for me. I might stand out [1] & [12] with heaps of chances for the place, Video Hits, Written by Xaar, My Best Tycoon, Mameluke, Star of Asia, Canny Me & Tropiqualo. I'm a little disappointed Penetrator was scratched, thought it had a genuine chance at huge odds.

I'll be backing Just the Star, Golden Fox & Nice Surprice if I can get 3/1 or more, others depend on value.

Got some mail about Desert War today...also liked Mahtoum ..
a good judge so i'm listening to him...might be a good trifecta race with Dizelle maybe wanting longer..beadman will have her there somewhere though..
warming to Perlin today..
i think the key in melbourne is the bias...will be watching very carefully the first few races ...this is the key..
Dont you love this time of year..

off to the track...in the hurricane force winds...be carefull with the front runners in Brissie who'll have to fight the breeze ....look for horses just off the speed with cover..
Poetic Papal my best of the day...

Good luck all
