Cool Emirates Stakes Day - Tips and Dribble

Race 1 - 1 Mazunda / 7 King Alfred / 12 Krasky / 3 Tempo - 11,4,16,9
1 Mazunda has won 2 of 3 over distance and has a second from one attempt here. Is ultra consistent and with Super Sal on board looks fantastic e/way value. 7 King Alfred was slow away before powering home is wide, but is fi. 12 Krasky has great 1st up record and has been set for this. 3 Tempo is building a nice career, will find this tough from the 14, would be more keen if drawn in

Race 2 - 8 Follow The Till / 1 Super Savings / 4 Barlagarney - 11,3,2,6
8 Follow The Till won the other day and I'm a big fan- can win this. 1 Supersavings won Syd stakes race on debut, obviously has ability to be shipped down so fast. 4 Barlagarney has trialed well and is bred to win some good races.

Race 3 - 2 The Boot* / 3 Angkhasa / 4 Aztec Smytzer / 8 Opter - 1,7,5,9
2 The Boot is very speedy fellow handles all types of conditions and has McKevoy - very keen on him. 3 Angkhasa's last start was a great run, will appreciate Flemington. 4 Aztec Smytzer has a great finish as he showed last start and is best distance. 8 Opter drops in class, where he weakened and will appreciate this grade
Race 4 - 3 Lords Are Leaping / 2 Zipping / 9 Utility - 8,4,1,7
Keen on 3 Lords Are Leaping as he is getting fitter and up in distance - will shake the bejeezus out of this. 2 Zipping speaks for itself.

Race 5 - 6 Glamour Puss* / 1 Cape Of Good Hope / 9 Queen Of The Hill - 5,2,7,8
6 Glamour Puss rises in the weight, great ride last week, loves the distance and track is good value at 5's. 1 Cape Of Good Hope finished of well last week and is the one to beat. 9 QOTH was a certainty beaten last start......

Race 6 - 6 Calveen** / 1 Desert War / 3 Miss Potential - 4,5,2,7,8
6 Calveen is screaming out to win one and this is it with 52.5 kg, barrier 8 will get the run of the race. 1 Desert War at HIS distance. 3 Miss Potential Beaten by Lotteria (Cox Plate runner up) so form is outstanding for this is drawn wide though.

Race 7 - 1 Confectioner / 4 Studebaker / 15 Douro Valley / 12 Colesce - 8,2,5,6
1 Confectioner had race not run to his liking last start, loves the track and his form prior to last start was very good without winning. 4 Studebaker is a query, ran well at GR1 level after stuffing up the start. 15 Douro Valley found line well last start and only has the 52.5 from the 7 so all in his favour. 12 Colesce just beaten in good Werribee Cup

Race 8 - 8 Aqua D'amore** / 19 Alaana's Song / 12 Full Spec - 10,9,15,3,16
8 Aqua D'more was my best bet on Tuesday when it didn't make it to the barrier, so have to stay with her - and couldn't find anything to beat her!. 19 Alaana's Song needs to get a start but keen if she gets in and 12 Full Spec likes the distance and ran on well to win last start in weaker class

Race 9 - 3 Butten Shaw / 4 Cargo Cult / 5 Shadowmaker / 6 Exalted Ego - 7,12,8,1
3 Butten Shaw goes well seond up and stable flying and will be value. 4 Cargo Cult will find this easier when ran a big race for second, drawn wide. 5 Shadowmaker is fitter and likes the track & distance. 6 Exalted Ego is up in distance and is very consistent.

Good Luck People

Question

Wow!!! What happened???

I had a great day. It's amazing how different people can get such different results faced with exactly the same fields.

Never mind. You'll kill 'em this week, I'm sure.

started off when i took a 4 horse boxed exacta in the first, they ran 1,2,3,4,! i made $15. tri paid 350 for $1.

Then i had a fair go at Follow the till and found out AGAIN why i should stay away from 2 y.o early in their career (except for i got chills).

Then My best bet of the day was left riderless at the 400! had it anchored in quaddies, doubles, multiples. You name it i had it going!

then larry Cassidy decided he would miss the jump on Desert War, but instead of back in the pack with cover he decided he would try and win a 1600m race covering 1800m with the top weight.

Then for some reason i took studebaker over our smoking joe and once again, the rider decided he would try and run as fast as the horse possibly could for the first half of the race and this totally f***ed my chances!
And just to top of a real good day i took a 5 horse boxed tri in that race, couldnt decide between grey song and command n' conquer. Guess what i took. got 1st 2nd and grey song beat bush honey into 3rd by a bees d***.

Decided that i had lost enough money for the day and took my bat and ball and went home (was at the track, didnt really. But i consider a $5 win bet game over), and am now left to lick my wounds.

Might i add that all the money i lost came from winnings and starting bank for Oaks day. Finished just up for carnival so i guess i can't complain but before emirates things were looking quite rosy.

Real

Jeeezus.....!! I can identify with a day like that....... Usually every meeting that I attend ON COURSE..... needless to say - I don't go and bet on course anymore - put my small bets on at the start of the day - hand the money over to the missus and beg her for drinks for the rest of the day......

At least your up for the week. Good Luck fella !

guys I can relate to this I amnot a big gambler by any stretch of the imagination and Cup day for me was brutul could not have been worse and that left me with $20 to bet with on Oaks day which doesn't last very long at all normally well I managed to have $2 e/w on Apaiser at 30-1 which atleast left me with $40 to spend on Emirates Day in my account, Well sure enough that dwindled away quickly early on so I decided to walk down to the pub with the $20 I had left in my wallet with no backup left in the bank account either the 1st bet I had at the pub was $2 win and $3 place on Hayil's Magic and it won paying about $15 for the win and $3 for the place from that stage I continued to have a few small bets and alot of drinks left the pub about 3 hours later full of beer and with $10 left in my wallet so no I didn't clean up but I sure made the most out of that $20 I walked in there with.

Thumbs up

Raw,

That's the name of the game, getting value for money and it sounds like you did just that.

Days like that just go to show how great our hobby is.
