Default Doomben Races Saturday

Race 1.
Not an easy race to start with..I thought Maizy May could run well fresh..trialled very well and allthough this is short of her best distance..only problem is she won't get the easy lead here as theres a few others that like to run along out front like she does..
Serenote has raced well in way harder races than this but has been ordinary of late ..But i do like her style of racing and i think it suits the likely tempo here..She can drop out that back and can sprint better than these..
hopefully i can get e/w's
Thought Maizy May and Denise's Diamond the dangers..
thought if you like roughies Denise's Diamond could run a cheeky race against this lot..

Race 2.
Not sure about Riegart ..heard he was alittle shinny last start and tomorrow's hard track will sort a few of these youngsters out...liked the way In Your honour finished off last start but after last week i'm not to keen in these types of races at this time of the season..

Race 3.
Decibeel again for me...rises distance and class and doesnt have the gun jock colless on board but still looks to good.
I'd be worried about Jackman who finished off super last start...
will risk Dont tell CLang again ...horse bit me last start but i'm still not convinced on the hard track..

Race 4.
Throw a dart ...my ratings have a few rated equal...i'll be looking for value here and thought Milady Clang would run well.....has shown form around this track and distance and hasnt been disgraced of late..last start should be forgotton as she just didnt settle ..but she has the blinkers off this time so i'm expecting improvement..thought Craiglea Bob the main danger..
should again get e/w's

Race 5.
All the rage is Rock On Bye but i'd be sticking with Emit Time ..he's race wise and fit now and with the claim isnt to bad off....6's in the paper looks real good..but i dont expect that tomorrow..
Rock on Bye was to good last start to ignore but no way i'd be taking those odds..
Vive Le Roi was so unlucky last start...has enough ability to be a rough chance...

Race 6.
Open race this one..thought Black Suit with the weight drop and the likely good run hard to beat..
went looking for value here and thought Levante would run well...likes the hard track blinkers on ..good alley can lead or take the the sit behind them but still very prominent..
Getting on the old fella but has been working very well...
another at e/ws

Race 7.
How good does TT look again in this ?? incredible run last start ...i dont think he'll get it easy up front but he never got it easy up front last start...Impaler should pester him alot more this time from the alley...
I went looking again for value...came up with Deuxieme ..raced well last start ..suited better over this distance and suited by the speed again..
theres not many horses here that can run the closing sectionals required to win here..and i was surprised about how well he went last start..
thought Show Biz Kid, Deuxieme and because if the weight Imperilism..
i'll be working tris ect around these 3 and TT / Impaler..

Race 8.
Another even race...Seanza is very under rated..last 3 runs have been good..should get the nice sit and be nice e/w odds..
Stars Of Gold the main danger..
alot of ordinary horses in this race...any result wouldnt surprise me...

I've again went for some value tomorrow...didnt work last time but i havent let that deter me ..went for alot of specks last week (some at 40's)..but tomorrow even though i've gone alittle wide they're horses that have class or atleast shown it in the past...
Thought Serenote, Emit Time and Decibeel the best bets...
and i'm confident i'll get a good run for my money with Duexieme and Levante..
Good luck guys ...

G'day Mav,

Looks a good day tomorrow at Doomben, can't wait.

Race 1 - Thought Miss Glamour Puss was a nice chance here. Ran a couple of good races earlier this campaign and hasn't had things her own way of late. I feel that from the 2 alley, and with the speed in the race, she'll get a perfect chance to win again. Serenote will love the speed and has shown some class in the past. She can figure without surprising. Absolom is a horse on the rise and will be on pace here. Ran some good races in town a while back - in those 3yo QTIS events. Hes not without a chance either.

Race 2 - Reigart looks the one. Not a great deal of depth here i dont think, looks a nice stepping stone to the millions. Grand Reve has a nice alley and a trial behind what looks to be a good 2yo (Jurnnom) and can be there. Pirate Queen with some experience is there too, the alley is no good though.

Race 3 - Cold Start can lead again here, and shouldn't be pressured too much. Was caught fairly easily last time, but i just love the way he races, you always get a good run for your money. Scenic Wells has been in great form and theres no reason to suggest he won't be competitive here. Can carry weight in this sort of class no worries too. I've never been able to pick Decibeel, so i may as well just keep leaving her out of my top 2 . She's there with a good show on the back of some good recent racing though.

Race 4 - Agree with Mav - throw a dart. My dart landed on Final Demand. Has run into Very Canny a couple of times lately, but theres none of them here so i think he can go close. Milady Clang has been thereabouts recently, but is struggling to crack it for a win. This isn't strong, so maybe tomorrow is the day. Kanes Crossing is a nice horse on his day, the alley and the speed in the race won't help him though.

Race 5 - Emit Time should go close here. Great win last time in good time and from the good alley, with the allowance, won't be far off them here either. Although he's on his way to the millions, i think he can just about win here. Vive Le Roi put in some good runs last campaign and can figure here with pace on (the pace looks hot with some genuine speed runners engaged). Bold Reason has had good wraps on him as a young horse, and can show it here tomorrow. The 11 alley will force him to go forward, but hopefully he can cross them.

Race 6 - Black Suit looks good here. Gets conditions to suit (good alley, nice weight, good speed) and i think will be too strong. A combination of weight, bad alleys and better horses has stopped Black Suit from winning a couple of his last few races, but tomorrow everything seems to fall into place. Thats Better will have to go back from the shocking alley, but has go plenty of talent and can definately figure. Starlactic was a super effort last time, and the time was great. I just doubt whether he can reproduce that run. Mind you, if he does, he'll go mighty close to winning again.

Race 7 - I, like most other people, believe Takeover Target has already got 1 hoof on the till here. Judging by the last effort (and the tiny weight increase), he just appears far too well in here to jump off. The 6 alley, and his speed will see him nicely positioned at the turn, and will kick away again. Hopefully he sees the 1350 out strongly . Impaler has great pace, and the last run will have done him some good - less pace on paper here too. Hes a nice place chance. Imperialism isn't anywhere near the class of Takeover Target but should have nearly won last time (in a very good rating race), and can figure here from the ideal draw.

Race 8 - Thought Hard to Catch was a nice way to finish. Has form to beat these and, although the horror alley is a problem, he has sufficient speed to offset it (i hope). The claim is a huge bonus too. Duke Sam was a great run last time, and can figure here - just dont think he'll be able to beat Hard To Catch home. Step Right In is a really nice horse who won at Eagle Farm during the winter carnival and can surely figure in the easier race here.

Fairly confident about a couple of those, which means im in for a lean day. Best would probably be Black Suit and Takeover Target with a good rough chance to Kanes Crossing.

Good luck tomorrow everyone and have a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.

Sven

I was impressed with Sir Dan last start that placed 5th first up in TT's race. I wouldn't be surprised if the horse is up there again today.

Good luck Guys and Merry Chrissie..

Emit Time will be odds on i reckon with Rock On Bye scratched,,,i'd rather be on Vivi Le Roi e/w at those odds..

Very hot today and i'm glad i'll get to see in the Mounting yard how the horses are handling it..

big tip around for Emit time, Black Suit and TT for the treble...it'll pay $10 ..
me i'm hoping for some upsets ...
still like my e/w's ...could be rolling in it if a few of these get up

Fingers crossed .

Well, I suppose Mav got that first big trifecta, so he's off to a big start.
