![]() Hi guys ..in a hurry going up north this weekend...looks a good days racing .
hoping to be alittle bit more consistent than last week,,,lucky enough to jag a huge trifecta to get me out of trouble ...cant expect that every week.. Race 1. Really liked the way King Latarmiss hit the line last week...3rd up and should be fitter now and ready to win... Race 2. I get the impression Bailey doesnt think Willy's a stayer at all...i'm inclined to agree with him...this is an easy race for him and should be winning this easy... i'd doubt if colless rides him as far back as usual,,, RAce 3. Fan of Maxy Legs..should of won some way harder races last prep...although there is a few handy horses in this race Maxy should be to good for them.. Race 4. I wasnt happy with Czarboy last start but it was a bit stop and start for him.. i'd be thinking they'll come for Clang edition ..this horse is promising but this is way harder ... Czarboy meets Emgee rex better on the weight scale and will be hard to beat here...cahill the key,, Race 5. Loved Panzer the other day ...wins this easily ,, Race 6. I'll stick with Vitruvian ...colless would of had the choice here between LA Montagna and Vitruvian and stuck with her.. Fashion afields will be leading and vitruvian should sit at her girth.. Colless the difference..distance suits Foolish in there for the tris.. Race 7. not intersted to much here..Mel would be the one id go with again...bad alley but has the early speed to counter act it.. would be keeping barlagarney safe.. Race 8. Realy like Son of Dane..unlucky down south...to good for these... special... Hoping Cahill has a good day.. confident with all these races...best King, Willy, Panzer, Son Of Dane.. Good luck all and a happy new year ![]() |

![]() The only one I like at Doomben is Coincidental in Race 5.
It's gonna be a scorcher on Saturday here in Melbourne. Supposed to get up to 42 degrees! Wouldn't be suprised if Moonee Valley gets abandoned to spare the poor horses from the heat. Don't forget to 'Slip, Slop and Slap.' Happy New Years! |

![]() Hey all,
Good days racing tomorrow, just hope that the fields don't get too small from scratchings... Race 1 - Thought Wolfman had enough going for him to win tomorrow. Good 1600m horse, and the last 2 runs have been good enough to see him very competitive here. King Latarmiss finished off really well last time, speed is a worry here, so i've only got him 2nd. Aidan James boxed on well last time and can do the same here with no speed on. Race 2 - Going for Hawkes to get the first 2 winners. I thought Mantle could get away with this race, from the reasonable alley. Was a good win last time, but the run 2 back behind Duke Sam was better. If he repeats that run, he's in this up to his ears. Umaprince usually gets better with a few runs, but will lead here and can run really good races around this course. Willy Leica is a strange acceptor here, after running over 1600m last time, but he's got enough talent to be able to figure here. Race 3 - Babinda Half should win if he repeats the last run. It took a great run from Starlactic to gun him down, and Starlactic has since franked the form with a huge run behind Royal Hero. Lang Park has plenty of ability and can get home hard if Babinda Half falters in the last few metres. Thought that was a good quinella. Mighty Crossing excels at this track and can definately place if the breaks go his way. Race 4 - Czarboy can figure here, if he gets in from the alley. Was something beaten 2 back, but didn't quite finish it off for some reason last time. I'm banking on that run being an aberation, so i think he can go close here. Seven crownies is back to a suitable journey here and is a big show. The alley is a worry, although Colless is great. Pay Me will be running on as usual, but may run out of ground on the short Doomben straight. Race 5 - Coincidental is in great form, and i see no reason to jump off. The last 2 wins in particular have been great, and if she repeats either of them, she'll take some holding out. Panzer is as honest as they come and won't be far off. I'd be surprised if he wasn't in the top 2. Tornado Alley never runs his best at Doomben, but he can lead easily here and might prove tough to catch. Race 6 - Fashions Afield looks better than them, but i'll be betting against her (i like my big priced gallopers ![]() Race 7 - Don't know. Maybe Barlagarney, Special Offer and Mel. That is just a guess though. I'm interested in this race for the Millions, its not a betting race - too many unknowns for mine. Race 8 - Great race to finish on. General Patton can figure if he gets in (huge doubt with this horse, last 4 starts he has been wide the trip). Has got undeniable talent on his day, and with the likely speed here, he can go really close. Teletrader will find this too short most likely, but i really like him as a horse, loved his last run and there is only improvement in him. Son Of Dane is back in grade from his Melbourne assignements and won't be far off them. Tough race, but you should get a nice price for your fancy. Good days racing, with my best being Wolfman, Babinda Half and Coincidental. Possibly a good rough chance to Special Offer whose last run was too bad to be true. Best of luck all, Sven |

![]() G'day all,
Here's my tips for Doomben today: R1 - Wolfman 3rd up should control the race up front and win easily, was left a sitting shot last start behind Diamondsondinside but fought on well to finish 2nd, Won 3rd up last prep over 1600m. Not sure about the rest Grand Lover will get back and run on, Nick 'N' John might take sit behind Wolfman and be a chance. R2 - Inclined to agree with Mav RE Willy Leica, prefer him over this sort of distance and against this sort of field should be way to strong, Mantle only won a class 3 last start but looks the best of the rest, Pride Of Paris might lead and give a good sight while Sandy River is the query. R3 - Babinda Half has been racing very consistently and doesnt look to be to much pace in this race and should lead all take a sit behind Legcapa. Always had a good opinion of Lang Park but hasn't justified that yet, from gate 3 should get a good run in behind the leading pack and run on strongly fresh, Maxy Legs win first up was very good 2nd up form a bit scratchy but has a chance on last win. R4 - Very hard race i thought, decided on Know A Lady, got to far back behind Emgee Rex and with the dawdling pace up front did very well to get home for 3rd with 57kg and nice run behind Seven Crownies start before. Obviously Clang Edition will be hard to beat this is his hardest test to date though, think Hanalei Bay is the class horse of the race and looks primed for this just worried about the weight over 2200m for him. R5 - Thought Tornado Alley was a good thing in this, will ping to the lead and be very hard to run down, terrific run last start with 59.5kg after setting a fast pace, back to 1110m, barrier 3, 55kg, looks a good thing to me, only worry is his Doomben record. Not sure where Coincidental will be in the run from the outside but is definitely the danger, Panzer might take the sit behind Tornado Alley from gate 1 and be a chance of running him down. R6 - Fashions Afield is obviously the class horse and should win, but like Svenlad i will be having a go at La Montagna and Street Smart in this, 1350m looks ideal for both and with the edge of race fitness over Fashions Afield might be able to run over the top of her. R7 - Gone for a roughie in this, Master Archie Good run behind Riegart first start at Toowoomba got back ran wide and finished well, last start had a nice run but race was suited for the backmarkers such as Way Off which won the race, Mel led that race and just got run down, but because of the gates i prefer Master Archie over Mel at the odds, Cole Trickle got back to last and ran on well, should be closer this time and should run a good race, plenty of other chances however. R8 - A match race between the top 2 i think, settled on A Little Naughty but only because of recent racing, won well beating Tornado Alley who i have as a good thing in race 5, Son Of Dane won first up at Doomben over 1200m with 57kg, this looks a similar race to this, looks a good quinella, forget Persuades last 2 and he has a great chance to upset the top 2, maybe Teletrader, back from a let up and back down to 1200m should sprint well but harder opposition this time. Best - Wolfman, Willy, Tornado Alley. At odds - Street Smart, La Montagna, Master Archie. Cheers and good luck.
