Default Eagle Farm Races Saturday....

Hey all,

Not a bad days racing at Eagle Farm tomorrow, although the spotlight is well and truly focusing down south. Some good events up here though, i'm especially keen to see Babinda Half in the flesh...

Race 1 - Go to the bar, have a drink. Maybe Go Gazza can figure here with the claim. He has been around the mark in better races than this and being by Clang, should get the journey ok. Dead Cat Bounce should be getting near a win (or at least a placing) after a couple of runs at longer journeys. Willow Park has been running well in easier grade but this is a step up. A place chance for mine.

Race 2 - Think Matzumi can go close here. Was a good winner on debut at Ipswich and although i don't know what went on last time, has the figures to beat these. The first starters are the unknowns though (obviously). I'll fill the placings with Tour Guide and Juliuscessar in no particular order. They are both from good camps and have trialled OK. Good breeding too.

Race 3 - Well, Jay Dee Rocks is certainly testing the friendship, but i'll stick. I don't know why, but i can still see this horse going on to better things. He gets some ground here and EF should suit him better. If they let him find his feat early, he can get home well. Rock Baby Rock really won well last time at Ippy and can run well again in this field. Moonlight Shadow is ready to take the next step with a couple of runs around the same level, although the alley is poor.

Race 4 - I think Allegro Spiritoso can lead and win again here. Although she got everything her own way out in front last time, i recall she won a couple of races here just prior to the carnival last year in good style. If she repeats either of those, i think she wins this. Dantibes Rhythm has been around the mark lately in good races, but i'll leave her in 2nd until she wins one. Danas Kingdom was a good run first up and can improve tomorrow at odds.

Race 5 - I don't think everything will go Babinda Half's way tomorrow. There is some speed here and the zip may have come off him after those couple of runs at longer journeys. In saying that though, i'll stay with him because he has been good to me recently. He'll try and grind them into the ground again and having the 1 alley will be hugely beneficial. Any Suggestion will sit just off them and have the last shot and is very talented. Could surprise. Algorithm is in much the same boat. Won a race here last year sometime over the same distance in an upset result and could easily replicate that.

Race 6 - Like Bundala. The run last time was great and the figure he earned would beat most of these. The best part about it is that the horse has only had 6 starts so you would hope that his best is still in front of him. Fil The Bill is a place chance after a run behind Adavale Hornet a couple back. With only 5 wins from 59 i'll never put him on top . Prince Puzzle has won his last 3 in good fashion and can run well here because this isn't a great line-up.

Race 7 - Umaprince will run well here. I read that a couple of the jockeys who have ridden this horse think he will graduate to better class races and for that reason, with some recent racing under his belt, i think he can give a great sight. Step Right In is in fabulous form and Eagle Farm is his track. Will be unders i'd say, but that doesn't mean he won't win . Gordo hasn't won one for an age but he is a quality galloper and will be finishing it off late.

Race 8 - Don't mind Short Way. If the track was dry, Shilo would be a special, but we've had a fair bit of rain so i'll steer clear of him. Short Way is still on the up and has been winning well at the coast. I think that form can transfer here without too many worries. Yubi isn't hopeless with some fitness runs. The last run wasn't too bad in better company and will be on pace. Good place chance at odds. October Grey has a bad alley and the beginnings of a bad 'non-winning' habit, but the figures he has been producing have been reasonable and put him well in this race. Nice race to finish on, with value around for most runners.

Best tomorrow would be Matzumi, Bundala and Umprince with a good rough chance to Jay Dee Rocks .

Good luck everyone

Sven
