Dear Chris, Every Saturday morning the three of us get together, after each of us has seperately analysed the form on Friday evenings, to come up with 3 outsiders in each race that we believe can upset the favourites. Sometimes we come up with 5 horses, but we always narrow it down to 3 because the races we pick are usually the legs of the doubles races in NSW so we want people (including us) to be able to couple our selections up, as well as to take trifectas. We have a system of determining who takes ownership of which selection. We do not "sell" our selections as we do it for fun with quite a deal of success. Dear Chris, It is very difficult to advise how you should bet on our selections. The members of this group use a multitude of systems with varying degrees of success. Some people only follow Martin, some only Carol, and some only Zev. Then there are those that try a combination. The 3 of us usually take all our selections in trifectas and doubles, and back the longest priced horse each way in each race. Our aim is to break even or be slightly ahead on each way bets, so that when we strike a double, or especially a trifecta, then we are miles in front. Our last successful trifecta was 2 years ago where the dividend of $28,000 for $1 put us way ahead by several years. However, there are several different staking plans that others also use with quite a deal of success. The Horseman's bookshop in Kensington (Sydney) has dozens of books on staking plans. You have to find one that works for you. Cheers, Martin |
