does anyone know why betting is suspended for the 3 major australian races at all big betting agencies? I know El Segundo is injured for this dato tan chin nam, Haradasun's Cox Plate aims confirmed etc but is there a major reason for the halt in betting?

Don't know. I assumed it was just about El Segundo, but he's not even in the Melbourne Cup, is he.

Bookies get very nervous as soon as there's even the slightest doubt about one of the favourites.
