Default Cadbury Guineas

I have been a member for a while now but don't post all that often, but after reading the post encouraging input from others I thought i's try and get some talk started.

What a great day of racing at Caulfield on Saturday. One interesting point that I have noticed though is in the Guineas. Hearadasun is listed as having "glue on shoes" for the first time. From what I know of this is that it is said to make a horse 4l worse. And quite a few well respected people in racing have said they would never back a horse with glue on shoes.

Wondering if anyone else noticed this, and what there opinion is?

Jeff

Jeff i would be certain of the nit picker (vasil) having tried and tried the glue shoes for the past coupe of weeks and if he noticed any difference in times and trackwork i am sure he would either A. Let the punters know or B. Remove the shoes as this is Haradasun's biggest ever race (in regards to stud) and he can't have him running a very average race.

Jeff I am nother who has heard nothing but bad reports about the glue on shoes and certainly would avoid backing any horse that runs in them from what I have heard the only thing worse then glue on shoes are bar plates.

I've heard the reason why hes got them....3 sets of shoes in 12 days ?? apparently he over reaches and just tears the off front shoe right off,,,,
with that many sets of shoes in such a short time its easy to imagine what the hoofs look like...running out of nail holes..
hes been working super with the glue ons ,or so i've heard...,,i've back flipped on this race and will be backing Hara if he gets to better odds.. 3.50 ?? would be nice

Glue on shoes means feet problems. Some horses do win in them ...about 1 a year!

Your right there Crash very few horses win when they have hoof problems it makes it hard for the stretch out properly when they are sore in anyway and sore feet are about as bad as any injury they can race with.

I actually thought Haradasun had looked a bit flat all through his prep this could be the reason why.

thank god he was to short for me ,,but wasnt he dissapointing,,couldnt have been ridden any better and had every chance,,
Nash just couldnt get him out from behind Miss A ,,,was he resenting the whip ?? i dont think so ,,i just think he was laying in under pressure...

lesson learned ,,dont listen to stable hands ...

Thumbs up

Great win by Miss Finland but even with the win, a very expensive horse to follow when running against the males at this level.
