Probability questions???
If something happens approximately 1 in 9 times, what are the odds of it happening 3 times in a row? Is it as simple as a 9 sided dice, which would be 9x9x9 = 729.
If the average price of every 3rd fav was 6/1, how often would 3 in a row be expected to win? |

ods of repeated event
Mark,
If the probability of something hapening once is 1/9 then you are right that the prob of three times in a row is 1/(9*9*9). If the fair odds are 6/1 (failures/successes) , then the event would have a probabilty of 1/7 . The probabilty of the event happening three times in a row is 1/(7*7*7). I hope that helps.
