Doggies question
I realise this isn't a horse racing question but I just noticed that at The Meadows greyhounds they pay a third div in a 7 dog race.
Does anyone know if this happens at any other greyhound venues and why would they do this? Gnarkley |

Gnarkley,
Yeah mate it is due to a late scratching bringing the number of runners to less than eight.....remain alert into the future as it may give the punters an "edge" in such instances. Cheers. |

They pay a 3rd div in a 7 dog race all the time (i.e. when 7 starters after normal scr time) or they pay when late scr reduces to 7?

Gnarkley,
MG10 was another example whereby a late scratching reduced the field to 7 starters but the tote paid three place divs. Cheers. |

To reinforce my advice please refer to :
Albion Park Greys R9, this evening, where again there was a late scratching and the TAB paid 3place divs in a field of 7 starters. Cheers. |

Thanks Xanadu and Sands.
I realised the reason when I went back to the doggies and saw late scratchings on 2 events that they paid out for third. Gnarkley |
