Default Matching Racing & Sports Divs with AAP Prices

It is distressing to hear that Michaelg is unwell. He has given many of us a deal of pleasure, and encouragement, over the years.
Here below is a different way of using R&S data, Michaelg, which I hope will interest you, and perhaps take your mind off other problems.
I use the R&S customised formguide to capture Don Scott final dividend, and also Neurals price. I paste these to a spreadsheet, and multiply the DS dividend by the Neurals price. I then sort each race on this product, and add AAP prices (from http://tabform.thewest.com.au). The end result looks like the attached - a race from yesterday. Column A is TAB number, Column E is the div x price product, and Column F is the AAP price. Note that the horses in each race are sorted in Column E order.
I am finding best results come from the lower ranking Class races. Currently, my betting rule is: if the first or second AAP favourites (including equal favs) are in the top three in the in Column E order, back them for a win- the green fields in the attachment are the selections from that race.
However, Michaelg, with the way your (first class) mind works, you may see other opportunities from this type of data.
Today's selections from this process are:
Devonport Race 3 number 6, R4 1 and 3
Ipswich R2 1 and 4, R4 2 and 7, R6 1
Nowra R4 8, R6 3
Mornington R8 1 and 6
Oakbank R5 5

Best wishes, Michael!
Jackact

Hi, Jackact.

Thank you very much for your very kind words, very kind wishes and very kind intentions.

Unfortunately I know almost nothing about computers, I don't how to paste or even know where the spreadsheet is, only that it is used for calculations.

It makes me feel very cold and unappreciative to a very well-intentioned person but please me assured that I'm certainly not.

I'll be looking at the AAP prices because I don't think I've done this before.

Again, thank you, and all the best with the system.

I see that Ipswich R2 no.1 has won - well done.

A small profit yesterday, so there may be something in it. No selections today due to Heavy and Slow tracks.
Yes, Michaelg, I hope the AAP prices are useful to you. Over time, I haven't found them an accurate enough indicator to use as selections on their own. I think their value lies in their source: I believe they are done by local form analysts, and do not come directly from a rating system. I use them as a reality check of computer-based ratings.
Cheers,
Jackact
