![]() Aussie says that the average winning price is $8.60 which to me translates to close to a 10% strike rate for winners once the tab take of approx 16% is considered. This agrees with UB's test site which gives an overall win strike rate of 10.4%. Knowles says the overall strike rate is 17.5% and I have seen other widely varying values around. Can anyone with a reasonable database give a good value for average win and place strike rates? Actually I would love to see the corresponding standard deviations as well.
Is it that the average horse only wins one race in ten? |

17.5% S/R is only possible if the average number of starters in a race was less than SIX runners. Are you are this stat wasn't from the camel races in Alice Springs ?????? |

![]() Don't follow. A 17.5% strike rate means an average of one win every six runs.
