If Betfair AUS were to close fully or drop the Exchange?
If betfair AU were to close or drop the exchange and just offer bookmaker odds, do you think Aussies would still be able to log in to betfair.com (not .au) and use the exchange there on whatever races were available?
Additionally, if betfair AU were to just offer bookmaker odds and still offer AUS races, do you think betfair.com would offer the exchange for AUS races? food for thought.. Interested to get your thoughts. In an ideal world I'd be asking the betfair board. *I should add that i've been told by betfair they have no plans to do either of the above in the near future. |

if they close down AUs exchanges its because of the turnover tax.
So in that instance there would be no exchange offered by anyone. IN that case I just slightly alter my strategies and I'm good to go even with fixed prices or tote prices (although profit drops substantially. Im also moving heavily into sports (different angle to CP though) and its making up a larger percentage of my turnover anyway. |

So if the AUS exchange side of it goes, all exchanges across all betfair sites worldwide go?

No reason I can see why Aussies should not be able to use the international exchange as we currently do

They would just drop the Aussie product, you'd still be able to bet on sports and UK racing.

Sorry I was in a rush. What I meant to say was that if the Australian Exchange stopped or no longer offered racing there is no way Betfair UK would offer it due to the turnover tax. It would be too much trouble. IMO I think that if the exchanges were to close then there would be a far bigger push politically to enforce the bookmakers to have a high minimum liability. The amount of turnover that would drop off because bookies would not take professionals bets would force the horse racing industry to back the punters demands for a higher minimum liability (or no liability). |

I don't think so, banned punters would go to the TAB or the track.

The track is an option but the track odds these days are shocking and the TAB odds are usually higher. |
