Falbrav Takes Over #1 in Global Top 10!
http://letitride.com/hm_top10.cfm Here are the results for the week of 15 October 2003: 1. Falbrav (up from #2) 2. Lonhro (up from #3) 3. High Chaparral (up from #4) 4. Azeri (up from #5) 5. Sulamani (up from #6) 6. Medaglia d'Oro (up from #7) 7.(tie) Storming Home (up from #9) 7.(tie) Perfect Drift (up from #10) 9. Alamshar (down from #8) 10. Dalakhani (down from #1) OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES (Listed in order of votes received): Sightseek, Congaree, Wild Spirit, Halfbridled, Candy Ride, Mubtaker, Mineshaft(1), Fine Motion, Star of Florida, Hishi Miracle, Ten Most Wanted, Spinning Hill, Clangalang, Aldebaran, Islington, Funny Cide, Empire Maker, Neo Universe, Ambulance, Refuse to Bend, Perfect Soul, Russian Rhythm, Grand Armee, Still in Love =========================== From Michael Tabart (Osaka, Japan)... 1. Lonhro (Australia) Undoubtedly the best horse in Australia over the autumn, and the best horse in Australia at the moment. Is yet to lose this preparation. Next stop is the Cox Plate, and hopefully will be able to put last year's nightmare behind him. Hopefully he will then be off to HK! 2. High Chaparral (Europe) Best horse in Europe in my book - probably the best 2400m turf horse in the world. Back into action in great fashion, and a great effort to win the Irish Champion. He was probably a little underdone for that, but the run will have done him good. A few excuses have been given for him for the Arc, and he will no doubt pick up another couple of majors before the year is out. 3. Falbrav (Europe) Has proved his Japan Cup was no fluke this year. The track didn't suit in the King George, but his wins before and after show that he is clearly the biggest rival to High Chaparrel in Europe (on unaffected ground). Terribly unlucky in Ireland, and will continue to be the main challenger to High Chapparal in Europe - especially under 2400m. Winning over 1600m last time out proves he really is the best horse under 2400m in Europe. 4. Hishi Miracle (Japan) Had always tended to have his wins discarded as flukes, but his win in the Takarazuka Kinen in June showed he is a top horse in his own right. Has now won 3 G1s, and looks capable of picking up at least another one over the autumn. Started off the autumn in great fashion with a very gutsy 2nd in the Kyoto Daishoten (G2, 2400m). Is on target for the big 3 G1s, but may struggle with the first 2 (the Emperor's Cup and JC). 5. Fine Motion (Japan) Suffered a shock loss on the weekend in her lead up to the big G1 season in Japan. She is entitled to another chance though and will now be aimed at the Queen Elizabeth Fillies & Mares (G1, 2200m). 6. Clangalang (Australia) The AJC Derby winner has come back in great form, winning the Epsom handicap after a setback. His main aim now will be HK, but he will be trying his luck against Lonhro in the Cox Plate (where a win would send him for the Japan Cup). 7. Dalakhani (Europe) Good win in the Arc, but not a strong field this year. His form before that has been very good too - definitely the best 3yo in Europe, and if he's not retired now, he could go on to make a mark for himself. 8. Neo Universe (Japan) Is on target for the triple crown in Japan this year, and he would be only the 5th ever horse to do it if he can win the final St Leger leg. 9. Ambulance (Australia) Had no chance of winning the Caulfield Guineas on a leaders biased track, but was a great run given the conditions. May now be aimed at the VRC Derby. 10. Still in Love (Japan) Like Neo Universe, is on target to complete the triple crown, except she is aiming for the filly's triple crown. Runs in the last leg, the Shuukasho on Sunday. |
