Dear Visitor,
Our Terms of Use prohibit defamatory or libellous postings. This is to protect OZmium Pty. Ltd. against litigation and not because of any desire to protect disreputable businesses or individuals. Please do not post any claim that you have been scammed or ripped off that names or in any way identifies the person or business. The correct avenue for redress on such issues are the State Consumer Affairs bodies. The South Australian Consumer Affairs Commission, for instance, has a website which lists many products and businesses it considers dubious. Bringing your complaint to their attention could result in a new addition to their list, or action being taken by the authorities. The difficulty on a public forum is where to draw the line on what postings should be removed. One way is to see if the person or company criticised complains and to assess the basis of their complaint. If anyone feels that a forum posting is unfair on them they should contact us and request its removal. If we think there may be some basis for their complaint, we will certainly delete it. Not being in a position to pass judgement on all such issues, OZmium Pty. Ltd. must err on the side of caution, both for our own legal protection, and the protection of reputations in the event that a complaint may be justified. Management. |
