Rule 1)1600mtrs races only
Rule 2)Back the 2nd fav ONLY if it has drawn the front row and the fav. the 2nd row.

What do you mean by front row/2nd row? Are talking trots?

Yes, he's talking trots, so rule 1) should be 1609 metres I suspect :wink:

His suggestion has a great deal of merit.

Sounds like a scenario where you would not want to back the first two in betting at all - i.e. good chance that they will be cutting at each other's throats, very early in the piece.

Not so!!!! Horses drawn the front row often get a soft run in the lead.If a horse drawn on the 2nd row decides to take off before acceptances and try to dispute the lead,usually you can tear up your ticket!
This method can be applied over any distance,but I find it holds up more over the shorter trip.
Do not operate on races for trotters.
