13 races on the PIMLICO card today Glenn, first race at 10:30am, last race at 7:10pm.

And they expect a crowd of over 100,000 !

Now that's what I call a day out at the races.

I'd be lucky to still have some moola left over for the 12th (Preakness)

PS Glenn - is it true some folk singer over there has written a song for Smarty Jones (for commercial release) and the song has some traditional Irish flavour?

Result: 7. Smarty Jones, 10. Rock Hard Ten, 9. Eddington, 1. Lion Heart

Glenn, thought the run of the 2nd horse Rock Hard Ten, was not bad, even though well beaten by SMARTY.

Yes, Smarty Jones ruled in today's Preakness, winning by 11 1/2 lengths over the mile and 3/16. Next up for him in 3 weeks the Belmont Stakes, at 1 1/2 mile. If he wins this, we shall have the first American Triple Crown winner in 26 years. I consider this a very likely scenario. A song was indeed written, by a Smarty home track employee/songwriter. Not a bad tune, actually. Smarty's owner is 78 years old, and is on full time oxygen due to a life of cigarette smoking. (Quit now, mates! I quit 2 1/2 years ago, with, thankfully, my lungs only damaged 24% after 35 years of smoking.)
Good horse. The Belmont Stakes (and I know there's an Aussie track by the same name) should be interesting. Everything here has a major Irish flavor. Even I am 1/2 from my mom.

Regards,

Glenn

Glenn, Triple M (major radio station) sport claimed Smarty Jones had won by 11 and a 1/2 lengths an almighty win in any race let alone a group 1 with a margin like that to spare over 1900m i expect he'll be very very short with very good reason to take out the triple crown. Sounds like Starcraft will find some handy competion when he makes the journey to the U.S next season.

You are correct, Mr. Ed. The initial lengths given me were incorrect. A very short price, Indeed.

Regards,

Glenn
