I think it's a mixture of gate takings and expenses. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the difference for Melbourne playing today in Brisbane as opposed to playing at home is close to $300000 or something, and it'd probably be the same for the Bulldogs playing in Sydney. Anyway, I think Melbourne are going to stop the arrangement after this season because a lot of their members were unhappy they were giving up the home ground advantage.

Oh, another very important part of the agreement is that there is actually only one game between the two teams each year. It's not as if Melbourne has to go to Brisbane TWICE in the one season. That would be downright unfair.
