Hi,
Does anyone know specifically the formula Unitb use to achieve their ratings or have any clues? I'm trying to run some stats on them, but don't want to manually input them, it would take far too long. Perhaps if we knew how they are arrived at they could also be improved. |

I'm pretty sure that I heard or read somewhere that they come fom AAP, Chrome.
Have had a quick look at the latter's site; but can't find any reference to them :???: |

Chrome,
Copied below from Qld Tab page. Twodogs • Ratings The final column displays the AAP rating for the runner. The rating has a maximum value of 100. |

Well, don't quote me on this, but I think a fair portion of the horse's rating is actually based on it's best career run, not necessarily it's most recent run. I think that's why some horses seem to be rated on top week after week, even if their current form isn't really that great.
Anyway, however they put the ratings together, I for one am pleased with the end results. |

Thanks guys,
Yes it seems the unitab ratings are based on peak run, perhaps adding a a last start rating of deduction or addition depending on the run, might indeed be a little more accurate. I'll play around with it and see if I can make it a winner. Pity, I can't find out the formula though. |

Well, I'm currently working on some systems to use on the Unitab top raters and they are looking pretty good so far.
