Surprised at the lack of comment on this forum concerning the recent outburst attributed to Mark Read alleging that race fixing and illegal doping in the racing industry is rife.
According to the report, Read says that in the last few years there has been a massive use and abuse of performance enhancing drugs.
Read is also reported to have taken a swipe at the racing Media claiming that if they dare to run with the story, their jobs are in jeopardy.
He is also claimed to have said that racing stewards are hogtied by officials who don't want to hear about it.
This story is interesting in the context of recent claims being made by the racing industry that the introduction of betting exchanges will lead to a reduction in prize money at all levels, brought about by a lack of confidence in the industry as a consequence of an increase in corruption.
