Default Wizard Cup - Round 1

Collingwood play Richmond on Friday night.
I have already decided to give Richmond a 12 point bonus for wanting to win the game more than Collingwood.
Another 6 points for having Terry Wallace.
And another 6 points because Buckley ain't playing.

So that's a 24 point bonus for the Tigers, yet I think the Pies will still win by 2 goals!

None of the bookies seem to be betting on the Wizard Cup yet.

Sportz.
It's a bit like diving into uncharted waters. It's much safer just dipping your toes in.
Don't want to go setting up board prices until your board prices are at least reasonably accurate.

Any chance of you,Sportz, setting up a tipping comp for the Wizard Cup series?
Could use it as a test base for the real footy Comp.I would, but I continually have problems with dropouts and stuff.

Seen someone mention a competition where not only do you need to attempt to pick the winner, but a margin needs to be nominated, and how far off you were with your margin, denotes how many points you get.

If you have a look on the Gambling forum, you'll see a thread on Tipping Comps where we discuss what we're going to do. I wasn't planning on having a tipping comp on the Wizard Cup, but it was going to be part of our Punting Comp.

Maybe that's a good idea though. I guess I could run a tipping comp on the Wizard Cup just as a warm-up to the real thing.

Okay, the markets are out now for the Wizard Cup and St Kilda are favourites around the $4 mark from Geelong and Port around $8 and Melbourne and West Coast around $9.

I think that 50 metres for swearing is way too harsh.
Perhaps the rulemakers could consider a 25 metre penalty for minor offences.Even that is quite harsh, but is not as frustrating for players and fans.Like Eddie said,we come to watch the footy.Sam's been saying it for years.
I'd be frightened of bumping into Jeff Gieschen in a dark alley, but he is turning football into a girls game.No parent wants their children to be hurt playing footy, but surely sticks and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me.
