It looks like the Canberra racing radio station (2SSS-FM) is to close at the end of the month as ACTTAB is refusing to provide reasonable funding to them. ACTTAB is claiming that the closure will have minimal impact on their turnover.

So the question is do you listen to the radio coverage of races and if it wasn't available would it affect your betting?

It doesn't bother me too much as I have Foxtel with SKY racing and also Sport927 radio on it - but before I got Foxtel it would have probably stopped me betting from home completely. It seems to be a very short-sited decision by ACTTAB - they are spending millions on upgrading their internet site and installing voice recognition betting, etc, but wont spend any money getting race coverage out to their punters.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?
