Default Bruges

While I didn't see yesterday's run, I am beginning to wonder about Bruges. Or more about the tactics used for the horse. It is my opinion that it is ridden too far back in the field, often coming from last or near last to storm into a fast-finishing 4th or 5th. The horse is beginning to become a money pit for me, and I was wondering if it has been mentioned in any stewards' reports in its last few races? I think I will be keeping my money in the future with this horse.

not sure if bruges was ever a good bet., hasnt won for awhile.
only 4th start before up against a couple of last start winners and at short odds. also awkward barrier. must admist i didnt consider it and backed both last start winners for a winner at 9/1 and survived the protest.

mecurial, I agree with your frustration. I wouldn't drop off yet. On his run 2 sts ago there is definately a win in him soon. He strung 2 wins together last December after 8 runs from a spell. Worth sticking with.

funny thing. my approach would be to wait for bruges to win a race and then follow her.
she will have more than one win in her. but potentially many costly losses.

remember i used to back fava now i wait until he wins.
in the meantime i have booked my place in the retirement home while i am waiting.

i could be in for a long wait.

at least i am saving money.

I've always thought that they've tried to run her over too much ground. She has some ability and being a back marker needs a fast pace , I just think you're a better chance of getting a faster run race over 1800 or less. Interesting to note 3 of her 7 wins have been over 1100,1100,1200 - now there certainly would have been pace on in those races. Maybe the 2000m races she won were just poor races and her ability got her the wins. Well that's my opinion for what it's worth :-)

a win usually suggests the trainer has got it right. during a period of lifting in class and a sequence of high class races that elevate in distance it is difficult to hone in on the horses best qualities unless of course it is a relative champion.
hot spots in a horses career are a luxury to get on to.
but i would wait for it.
