Default A tip for newbies

Never use a bonus bet for an EW investment, reason as follows lets say the nag is placed at $3 and you've had $10 EW using a bonus bet, they will pay you $10, because they will deduct $20 from the return, whereas if you place 2 seperate bets i.e. $10 win and $10 place you will receive $20 payout i.e. $10 bonus win bet lost so thats it, but $10 place bet places and pays $30-$10 (bonus stake) leaving you with $20 in other words they are double dipping the the stake on the win bonus bet, but we're not surprised are we?

That's because they only pay you the profit after taking out the cost.

Shaun, yes of course but if you peruse my post again you will see that you would still have $10 bonus bet to win and $10 bonus bet to place but be $10 better off with that option! it's a case of "where is the missing Dollar"

Another rort on dead heats, on short priced favourites, they don't pay you half the dividend, they pay you $1.00, on other horses, say your horse is $5.50, they don't pay you $2.75, they pay you $2.70 or even less.

Just an add on, with this EW thing the bookies reckon $10ew is a $20 bet, which is why I only got $10 from a $3 placer.

So I had a $20 bonus bet and I have $10 EW, ($20)......... they said you can't do that as it's 2 separate bets $10 win and $10 place GRRRRR!

Heads they win tales you lose!

Forgot to say, that's because they had a $10 minimum bet (when it's a bonus bet) but amazing how the definition changes when it suits.
