Attached are my ratings for today's racing... It's Prelude day at Taree.. The winner of the prelude is exempt from ballot for the Taree Cup run in a couple of weeks.. Interesting runner in this race is the former Hawkes trained Takas, though because this is his first go at the track and has a moderate performace at the today's distance, plus the big weight and drawn the outside, and fairly ordinary form of late (though he has had big weights to carry ) I think he is a big risk.. I see that Damien has tipped him, so that will bring his price in, as well as being a well known horse.. As I said I think he is a risk... I think the mare Dancer Dancer ( she is up from a class 5 last start, but is a city winner) is a good show in this type of race, she has had one go at the trip for a win, and is one of my fav Jockey/Trainer combos in the area, Jenks is the horse on the up, he is up from a CL6 to Open company, this will surely test him, though I do like him as an honest solid galloper.. Cosmic Star should be thereabouts, not sure if this fella knows how to run a bad race... It is a good race with a few chances.. Race 8 at Taree.

Hey XPT, what method of converting your ratings to prices do you use? What is your attack at the betting once you have your prices. E.g. Say only one horse was overs in your top 5 selections then i would assume you back that. What if 3, 4 or 5 horses in your top picks are all overs according to yopur assessed market?

I personally back all horses that are what I consider overs, provided I can make a profit... (that is within the top 4 or 5 beacuse about 70 % of winners should be found there)Yesterday we found a couple of nice priced winners within the top 5.. I am still working on automating converting my ratings to prices,,, I can do it manually but it takes too long... If I can get it down to an acceptable time, I will revert to posting prices again...
