Default Doomben Races Saturday

I've done my ratings on a slow track..doomben can be a super drying track though and it wouldnt surprise me that it ends up being dead so i've looked at both scenarios.

Race 1.
My Best Tycoon won very well last start and takes on an easier field here..time was good and only goes up 1/2 a kilo,,,not sure in the wet though..but did win on a dead track at the S/C and that would be almost slow anywhere else....
i dont mind Monte Cavallo whos proven in the wet and in real good form..should be peaking now and will make his own luck out front..beat some handy types last start including A Sir La who won for us on Wed..
will concentrate on these 2.

Race 2.
liked Winaura's run last start..came from way back..looks to have ability but if its to wet ..might be better off grabbing a beer.

Race 3.
Rashini has been up and down in the past but i liked his run last start..thought La Montagna with wet track form a maybe if the track is suits.
another sit back and watch race here unless i see some value around these 2.

Race 4.
Special Langfur should lead here and that suits little Miss Mason..problem is everone knows this and he'll be unders..
Bellargo looks to be improving with every run this prep should be peaking ..fantastic win last time in a lower grade ,,pushed Red Pill to the limit before that....inconclusive in the wet..but the breed doesnt mind it..worth an e/w me thinks with the gun jock on board...
other chances to Minoa and Tackman.

Race 5.
I didn't like this race and didnt even rate it..very open ..might have an e/w on Stars n Gold who likes the wet and raced well last start,,not sure of the hype around Rural ..but theres not much in this race so punters will be looking for the improving type..

Race 6.
if the track isnt to wet i really like Levante..should lead and be hard to catch with that weight..the class runner here..
if its wet Black Suit..very good winner for us 2 starts back and worked well last start out wide.likes the wet and the wide barrier might not be a bad thing this time of day if its real choppy... will be looking at these 2.

Race 7.
What a race..have Messian. Prosecution, Champion Star, and Succeeding all in my stable..
In the wet Prosecution looks good..this horse has taken that next step and will be hard to beat in anything this prep..
Messian will lead and be hard to catch but a no in the wet...
Champion Star is real good 1st up..not sure if its wet ??risky ,, did beat Chesterman and Panzer in a recent barrier trial..
Succeeding .super super run last start but will be giving some of these to much start..likes the wet though so keep safe..
looks like Prosecution..

Race 8.
Radar Orielly...,might be a risk in the wet but looks real good this prep..his 2 runs have been impressive..cant tip against him..
thought Stipend might be a good e/w..great run last start but is a bit inconsistent...good strong jock on board though which should make a difference..

Not an easy day in Brissie..my best Prosecution, Bellargo and Black Suit (wet)

Good Luck all

Hey Mav, not a bad days racing in Brissie tomorrow, good support for the Melb card i thought...

Race 1 - Thought Minassi was the one here, back significantly in class. Didn't really run to the price last time, but should improve with the run under his belt. Boom Shaker has been running well in the mid-weeks and the claim will help a lot. Audubon is a nice horse on the rise, and can easily figure here with a decent run.

Race 2 - Dunno....(again) Maybe Plachutta might improve. Velyell and So Highfalutin might be thereabouts. I'll steer clear of the short one, don't fancy taking odds on about a 2yo with only 1 start....maybe i'm just not adventurous enoguh

Race 3 - Like the way Klondike Kid won last time and the extra 200m looks like it will suit. Rashini should take some benefit from the first up run and this appears to be much easier class. The 1kg off his back will also help, not being a very big horse. Kanpeki was a good win last time in maiden company, but the way she did it suggests that she could be competitive here.

Race 4 - Ripping, another stayers race. Maybe Special Langfuhr and Minoa to fight out the finish with Gold Victory also a good chance - liked the way he finished his race off last time, the extra 400m shouldn't be a worry in the world.

Race 5 - I've gone pretty rough here, because i couldn't warm to any of the ones in the market. Kanes Crossing. He can go quickly out front and if he gets left alone to a certain extent, he could kick on in the straight. Free As Air has ability, you've just gotta get him on the days he wants to show it . Bandos was given a wrap from a few places before his last run, and i'm willing to forgive it. Has a nice alley tomorrow aswell, won't be far off them at the turn and will get his chance.

Race 6 - Algorithm should go close here. Has got the first up record, has got the good alley and the good jockey. They'll go fairly quickly, and i can just see him camped just behind waiting for the run in the straight. Golden Fox has a horror draw but has plenty of talent, Doomben seems to be his track too. Sharp Aunty will love the speed on up front and will be charging home at the end.

Race 7 - Good Race. Champion Star is a nice horse, who excels fresh - albeit in easier class, but he has shown that hes easily up to this class before. Warrior Trader could improve with the recent racing, races well on pace and Doomben obviously should suit. Messiaen has the alley, and gets some weight relief and is a good chance to win this.

Race 8 - Mameluke got no favours last time. It was a dawdling speed and they had no chance to get home from the tail. I think he can go close here, with some good speed in the race (naturally the horrible draw doesn't help). General Sam has a chance here, from the 2 gate. Will sit 3 or 4 back on the fence and be ready to sprint at the right end. Good jock too. Chasin' Tail has just kept winning lately, but the 1600 is the query. I'm willing to risk at this stage.

Best tomorrow would be Minassi and Algorithm with a good value chance to Kanes Crossing....Black Ink, Lachlan River and Majorca in Melbourne too

Good Luck everyone

Sven

I'm really waiting to back Algorithm first up, but I'm not keen on him on a wet track. They avoided the wet last week. Don't know if they can keep on scratching him.

MLB:

Looking for value:

Race 3:

Mr Celebrity $2.00
Confectioner $3.33
Uprize $$10
Rizon $10

So Rizon & Confectioner here

Race 5.

Lots of chances & a terrific field. My only bet will be Afraah from gate 2 & big odds.

Race 6

Headturner is a $2.00 chance in my book. Good value.

Race 7

Very open race in my book, faves are way unders.

Activation $4.40
Lad OT Manor $4.89
Lachlan River $5.50
Desert War $6.29
Super Kid $8.80
Fields Of Omagh $8.80

I guess I find out today if i'm over-rating Lachlan in this class. Nice value here around LR, DW & SK.

Race 9

Sassbee $3.50 & Recapitalise $4.50

Nice value those two.

SYD:

Kipconi & Special Times

Nothing in Brissy or Adl today, but I have 2 from trials in at Ascot. Behn Scenic who won 1st start after a fantastic trial so I'll be on him again, & Eugenie Blue

Who says stats don't mean anything??? 4 wins from 5 first up starts before today (now 5 from 6). All it needed was a dry track and he was just about a good thing. You beauty!!!

Great win..i think i've had something on Algo in every start....all the joy of winning isnt enough to make me forget that i was the under bidder when he was sold the other day...he's more that made up for that price in his first start..
also had something on Levante ..who battled on....

did you have something on Champion Star Sportz ?? his first up stats are even better,,
