Default Doomben Races Saturday...

Hey all,

Doesn't look the easiest days racing tomorrow, with some even fields but we'll see how we go.

Race 1 - Tough race to start the day. I thought Carolina's Boy could go close here, even with the big weight. Has raced with some of the better sprinters around brisbane, so this class drop will help. Confidence is helped by Colless being booked too, i think hes been primed for a big first up effort. Piccohi is a horse with some good natural ability and has been running nice races in weaker company. Deserves his chance here. Octanee will appreciate the hot speed in this race, but will be a long way off them i suspect.

Race 2 - Cole trickle will almost certainly improve here, with the one run under his belt. While he didn't set the world on fire last time, i feel that the firmer surface and the blinkers here will help hugely. Rosco's Circus won well last time, but i feel he got past Brambletye because of the latter not quite running the 1000m out fully. Not completely taken with the apprentice being onboard either, would have preferred a senior jockey. Valconic was an improved run last time out and can keep going here, with no weight and a good alley.

Race 3 - Teletrader should go really close in this one. Was well supported last time and it almost came off but for a slightly unlucky run. WIth the good alley tomorrow and the good rider staying on, he'll do me just fine. Just hope he's not too short. Beecadd was a strong performance last time out and theres no reason to suggest he can't reproduce that effort, with adequate speed on. Nicewan, from the good alley, can also run well tomorrow.

Race 4 - Cold Start has been in rare form with Rachael Mason on board and i'm not jumping off now. There doesn't seem to be much speed here, so i hope she can do whats shes been doing on the old bloke these past few runs annd dominate from the front. Appleby was a good win last time, the speed is dubious here though, and Cold Start has been proving to be tough to pass in these class races (just ask rue the saint). Red Pill has been running well lately too, the alley may force him to go back a fair way too, though.

Race 5 - Lasting Luck was a good winner in much easier grade last time, but the run prior to that she wasn't far off in town. So, with the good alley and gun jockey, she'll do me fine. Kanpeki should benefit from the run in town last time and will improve in the easier field here. Nasrullah's Girl might have to go back from the alley, but with no weight can get home hard if the leaders are starting to wilt.

Race 6 - Not this race's biggest fan i have to say. Picaplace maybe. First up over 1600m is a strange move, but i've got a lot of time for the trainer and i doubt he would have entered the horse if he wasn't ready. Templin has a shocking gate, but i've always liked this horse and he can probably go close if he gets the right run (big if from 18 gate - will come in some with scratchings). Mining Silver has been consistent of late and if they hold him for a last dash at them at the death, he's a good chance at odds.

Race 7 - Tough Race. If it was at Eagle Farm Tornado Alley wins. But he is clearly not as good at Doomben, which complicates matters. For that reason, i've gone for Imperialism. He'll get the right run behind the pace, and has a good fresh record. Tornado Alley is a really nice horse, and has abundant speed, which will help around Doomben. Levante hasn't been running up to his best lately, there might have been excuses, but i'm prepared to give him a go against this field.

Race 8 - Video Hits is a nice eachway chance here i feel. From a good alley, behind a strong-ish tempo the cards seem to have fallen well for him. Good jockey too, knows the horse. Canadian Shuffle has been racing really well lately, popular win last time too . Can go close here, from the alley and with the good young apprentice onboard. Zauberei is some sort of a chance too, but he can be tough to catch. Will have to get a long way back and pray for the leaders to compound.

Best for tomorrow would be Teletrader and Cold Start with a good eachway chance to Video Hits.

Good luck with your bets tomorrow crew...

Sven

Hi Sven ..have to be quick ..going to the Cricket today ..corporate style

Race 1.
I thought the weight would stop Carolinas Boy..but only just...Octanee and Mr Sequential to run him down...not a keen betting race for me..
Race 2.
Roscos Circus looks the goods here..smart type...very confident.
Race 3.
Beecadd won to easily last time..no reason to jump off..teletrader a good chance also.....beecadd at the backable odds,,
Race 4.
I'm a Red Pill fan...horse is flying..thought Appleby who i usually under rate is a big show here to,,,,Cold Start the one they have to catch..
Race 5.
Kanpeki in a race i'm not overly keen on...
Race 6.
Liked Cathy's Gold last run..should get nice e/w odds if she runs..Mining Silver another with a good show.
Race 7.
Loved Doonans last run..good chance here despite the awkward alley...Imperilism easily the biggest danger ..
Race 8.
Canadian Shuffle...super form this horse..claim is ideal....Zauberi if the tracks wet..

My forms done on a good track....and its looking alittle overcast so it might be a slow or dead track today...not sure..

Melbourne
*Miss Glamour Puss, *Miss Potential, *Studebaker, *Aqua Damore, *Caulfield Jim.
Sydney
*Strada, *Clontaago, *Piculet, *Smart MAxie *Malcom
Adelaide
*Tic Toc Tac, *Hug A mug
Gold Coast
*Machtig Kaki Saya, *Wokandi, *Rautias Warroir
Toowoomba
*Stratisfaction
Newcastle
*Dazzling Hula, *Jolt
Ascot
*Seymour Mist, *Dakas Gem (Covertly)

Heaps of runners today...alot will be too short or scratched..or the track conditions wont suit..
Thought Sydney looked easy and might look at Allups to get some value there..

Good Luck All
