BJs BlackBook
Ok, so a few of you know that I bet to a system, and am really not a form man. I bet race to race, and am watching the races as they happen. Sometimes I even need to check after the race which one I was actually on...
I decided after reading a few blackbook threads on here, to start my own, and after a couple of weeks of writing down horses names, I get my first starter tomorrow. I will not provide any comments, I think it is pretty obvious that I chose these horses from eye catching runs. That simple. I have tried to steer clear of the shorter priced horses, but there have been a few sneak in. At some stage in the future I will have a serious blackbook, and will confidently punt on them, but until then I will begin my adventure into the world of the blackbook very tentatively, basically as a time filler inbetween the serious parts of my day. I will not have any money on these, so I expect nobody else to either (you know what I mean). Anyway, here is my list so far. Dovecote Lad Danish Prince Our Peaceful Mr Kiseki Regal Cat Orrong Abbasianne Azzamethyst Frisco's Vision Pharsna Navajo Code Have one tomorrow. Canberra Race 4 Number 6 Dovecote Lad. |

Yes, it will be some sort of a thrill. But my system bets which I will actually have money on will be running around in the same races, so hopefully my black book doesn't have too high a strike rate.... |

Dovecote Lad.
Dropped back from 1100 to 1000 in a higher class race. Dropped back to last on a track that has seen every winner in the leading trio on the fence. Got cut off about 300 out and lost a bit of momentum, and ran home reasonably well to finish 3rd (NTD), all over the top of 2nd. Will keep this one for another run. I think needs the 1100-1200, and to be ridden with more consideration for track conditions. I don't think I have embarrassed myself too much with my first run, and since my money was on the winner, I could care less.... |

I have it all set up through aap, so they will notify me of any runners. I can only really access sky channel, so alot are midweek runners in country events, and there will only likely be 1-2 running on any given day, so I should be able to keep track of it. Probably won't have any more than about 20 in my book at any time, and will probably dump each runner after their first run for me. ( I haven't really decided yet, but if they fail, they are no good to me, and if they succeed, then they probably won't be very good value after 2 good runs in a row. Will work all that out as I go along...) As I said, most will be pretty good odds, so I am really not expecting a very high strike rate. I will keep a tally of runners/wins/places. (If any.... ) While I am in here, I have another running tomorrow at Eagle Farm. Race 8 Number 9 Orrong. |
