I remember this time last year a user on this forum asked everybody to nominate 3 horses that they think will be the ones to watch this spring, the response last year was excellent, so i thought it would be a good idea to do it again, as it was very interesting to hear everyone's point of view and who knows, you might even find a winner or two. I will start it off.

A very hard question to answer at this stage of the game as we are yet to see some emerging stars - especially from NZ. (And I'm not referring to Sunline).

As my first intro to the forum, these are my 3 Spring horses to follow.
Hey Pronto * * * Coupe * * Cognac Trader * I look forward to seeing an interesting forum stable build up from everyone's suggestions here. |

That's half the challenge of picking them now EI, surely you have seen plenty of horses by now and in the last 12 months to pick at least 3. It is only for a bit of fun after all.

Sounds like a good idea,
* Thorn Park * Republic Lass * Half Hennessy Underperformers of the spring: Victory Vein - Will probably get flamed for this, but compared to the other 3YO's she has been less than impressive (in my eyes). I predict she won't win a decent Group 1 this Spring. Northerly - he will get lapped in the Cox Plate on his current form. Best chance this spring is if he contests the Caulfield which my sources say is increasingly likely. The word is that Fred knows he has lost a bit of his brilliance and the persistence with blinkers off is to teach him to settle well enough to get 2400m and possibly 3200m. Time will tell! |

Just read that Thorn Park will be given a break until the Autumn. Replace him in my list with Titanic Jack. Being by Encosta De Lago I don't expect we will see his best until 1400-1600m. He's my tip for the Caulfield Guineas.

I like these three:
Dress Circle Purple Groove Cyclades Not necessarily the best of the best, but could pick up a couple of feature races between them, and hopefully at a good price. |
