![]() Whats everyones thoughts on the straddie ??
Looking for some niced priced runners i picked out Fritz's Princess shouuld have won on the weekend and looks to be going better than ever, should get into the field and the likey fast tempo and the track suit.26's Double Dare runs in the 10,000 this week and maybe some sort of chance after his last run where he got a mile back and made a huge amount of ground chasing RTW. Another like Fritz's that will be charging late and suited track, distance and tempo. 17's Swick The one i like the most, made good ground late off a muddling tempo last start..kept on the fresh side for this assignment ticks all the boxes. The added box i'd tick for him is Class,,he's proven and wont know himself with that weight. 11's Atapi The horse is flying , Forget his last run where he was stopped when just warming up,,another who gets alot of ticks and the type that will be weaving through the field late. 14's Horses like Vormista and Reigning to win big chances but look unders at the moment. Murtijill brave last start but he wont get it easy up front. Another point i wanted to raise is "where have all the genuine good track surfaces around carnival time gone ?? " I know down south the practise is to over water alittle to make sure the surface is borderline dead (we all remember Makybe's MC ) but i think track curators are bowing to the pressure of keeping southerners and the boys over the tasman happy. (yes spoken by a true queenslander) Back in the day trainers with horses that like the firmer surface targeted the Brissie races expecting the suited surface. These days are gone i suspect .. The Gold Coast (just check the times) maybe the only track left with a genuine firm surface. Maybe i'm jumping the gun but we'll see over the next few weeks. |

Hi Maverick I agree, forget ATAPI's last run should have finished a lot closer and is primed for the straddie. The stable is buzzing bring it on. Cheers

![]() I had a $5 multi on Atapi in the Stradbroke at $17 and Formula One Racer in the derby at $16 a little while ago. Needless to say, I will be very happy if those 2 get up.

![]() Double Dare: I have always liked this horse he can reel off an amazing finish at times and would be suited by both the distance of the Stradbroke and the track at Eagle Farm, he just looks like the right type of horse for the race and with 52kgs he will be real hard to told out late.
Diplomatic Force: I liked thi guys run behind El Cambio last week thought it was full of merit espcially from the wide gate, he'll be having his 4th run back from a spell heading into this race with a nice 3rd in the goodwood in Adelaide 2nd up he doesn't meet El Cambio any better at the weights here but I think he'll be improved by that 1st run in QLD, he is another I think will be suited by the track and distance. Hard To Catch: Look I have always liked this horse he is gutsy as hell and right now the little bloke is weighted out of everything he is in, he gets into this race with 52.5kgs and has ran a bottler of a race in this last year probably as good as anything in the race from where he came from, this year his form has been solid without been spectacular but I think if you want a bit of a bolter at odds that might run a race for you at $61 & $16 you could do a hell of alot worse than have a bit e/w on him, the trip is ideal for him and if they go along hard he will be strong on the line. I could have named El Cambio, Vormista, Reigning to win or Atapi but whats the point blind freddie could have picked them I always have tried to find value and always will and I don't think there is any amoungst those runners. Another I would love to see make the field is Roman Squire but he has nearly no chance at all unless he can take out an exempt race which i think is the week before the straddie. |

![]() I think Helideck will give the Staddie a good poke on 52kg. It's sectionals are top class an cops a big weight drop. A horse on the up for sure. I've backed it for it's last 3 starts and all won.

Fritz's Princess still around the 26's sportsbet but found her at 34's on another site ![]() Double Dare ...good run yesterday and in a couple of points to 15's ,,havent seen the sectionals yet but his last 200 must have been good,,,Drops 7kgs and goes to a track that will suit him better.. Swick ,,,still the horse i think with a huge chance,,he's at 10's so no real value there at the moment.. Atapi ,,the big mover ,,in 4 points to 10's ,,people willing to forgive his last run where he had to stop,,,,The 14's look good now ,, Pinnacles ,,,out to 21's,,this is value now but i'm not sure whats going on with this horse .. |

![]() Mav regarding Fritz's Princess be very careful with her I have thought in the past she would love 1400m but from what I have seen of her she doesn't really finish races off at the trip, you have gotten good enough odds on her so that atleast is one good thing but be very wary of her.

![]() Hi Raw, ,,i know what you mean but her last run ,1400m at Randwick convinced me otherwise..the time 84.2 was ok but she was behind a wall of horses and had to check off heals, come around them and sprint again,,
given average luck she wins by a length and drops 4 kgs for the straddie,, Last time she was up she was given no chance in the winter stakes but shes a better horse this prep.. Pinnacles is coming and i'm going shopping for a price before he runs at Flemington this week,, Last edited by maverick1993 : 26th May 2008 at 05:08 PM. |
