Default Training over Jumps

It was interesting to hear the commentators on Channel Nine yesterday mention that Maldivian had been trained over jumps during the week.

When I heard this I quickly backed Maldivian based on Efficient being sent over the jumps before winning the Melbourne Cup last year.

I wonder how often this occurs, pity the form guide doesn't include changes to training technique.

Imagine how big the form guides would be if the trainer had to list his little tricks and training techniques
I'd imagine jumps would be used alot ,,especially on horses that have just gone off the boil and seem bored in there races.
I know of a few that do dressage and even ride them through bush trail to sharpen them up and just change there routine.
