These were actually sold many years ago.
There are 12 in all.I,ll post 4 a day. 1/ Add the number of days last start to the horses finishing position . Must be 12 or less 2/ Must be a last start winner and have finished in a place at Todays Distance at least 4 times.Current campaign 3/ Add weight and price together.Contender is the lowest number. 4/ Go from botton weight up.Contender is the first LS winner you come too. (Current campaign) Enjoy. |

Sorry Pete,
I never followed through with them either. Have you ever heard of a spot play system for harness racing as I,m after one? My own spot play system for Vic Dog racing has been winning for many years and was once a challenge between the Optimist and myself in PPM. Needless to say I won and to Dons credit he acknowleged it as such. It will never been posted on any forum though or given away as its money for jam (though I,ve posted a few on Moeees greyhound thread.) Cheers darky |

No Darky haven't got anything at all re harness racing, never looked at it or dogs either for that matter.
The Vic Dog spotplay plan sounds good, did it perform in other states too? A bit off topic but re the 'Optimist', I used to get that mag years ago but stopped. Anyway before he died I spoke once on the phone to the late Ian Barnes of Punters Choice about another matter and he reckoned that some of the Optimist's ideas and plans in his "Plan of the Month" articles were as good as a lot of commercial systems. |

Hi Pete,
It only worked in Victoria. Don had some great ideas and we used to correspond quite regularly going back to the days of Arnie and Phil Rogers of the old Turf Monthly. Ah .Those were the days. He was particularly intriqued when I sounded him out on laying backmarker favs in 1000 M races. He was particularly good at Horse Profiling. Here is a spot play i have used from time to time on races, look for form lines like 117,118,119,110 no spells it seams to work better the higher the runner is weighted, i guess the idea is to forgive a bad run from a horse that was in winning form.

Led throughout (Main Rule.) AND Any 4 of the others. What they forgot to mention was that you,d be flat strapped to get a dozen bets a year with it.Ho Ho. |
