Default New System from the my vault

Here is a systems I worked of late but still really early days.
All testing is only from Jan 2008 - 2/7/11
Some have a few too many rules but the results were good.
All made good profits, but most punters expect to make money every weekend so could be of no interest

Saturday Only
a) Distance 1110 - 2000
b) Field size 14+
c) Age 3 +
d) Place 21%+
e) Weight max 58kg
f) Weight below top max 5.0kg
g) Days Last Start = 10 Days (important)

Last start must be metro and within 4.9 lengths

403 Bets - 54 Winners (13.4%) POT
696 Return , POT 72.7% Unitab

Enjoy

So to qualify , an animal must have had a run EXACTLY 10 days ago?

Vortech,

Using your criteria (the only one I couldn't include was wbtw), using the dates you gave:

I only got 182 selections for 83.13% POT, so with the wbtw filter the selections would have to be less????

Unfortunately this includes a $65 and $45 winner, which indicates that perhaps the profit is relying on an unlikely trend.

So to confirm this, I ran it for selections before Jan 2008 and got this....

380 selections, loss on turnover 62.71%, maximum dividend only $16.70

Looks like luckily you hit a purple patch, but I wouldn't be too confident going forward without additional filters.

That was my thought pattern.
Appreciate your help Chrome.

without a strong ratings selection, most systems built on statistical figures will fall over long term.

A simplistic approach I ran through the now defunct Online System Builder, I came up with this.

RULES
Must be top ranked in place percentage.

Must have run exactly 4th last start.

For whatever reason , it showed a good profit for Sat Metro racing tested over 2 tears of stats.

I am not sure how it would perform on other days or non-metro tracks,.

Maybe Chrome could give it a little run on his excellent data base.

Unfortunately the online system builder was working with innaccurate data:

18.68% S/R
10.86% loss on turnover

Sat metro only.
