Is anybody having trouble accessing the Betfair site?. I keep getting "Cannot Find Server", however I can open every other site I regularly use.

Mark, I too cannot access the site. I hope its only temporary and that some sort of block has not been placed on us Oz members.

Unfortunately the cynic in me is rising, just seems a little too much of a coincidence that we can't get in on a Saturday.

Is it just me or is the Tabcorp site very unstable this afternoon as well? I have only been home since about 3:10 but have only been able to get onto it once since then.

Having no troubles with Tabcorp.
BETFAIR did post a notice early this morning about site maintenance today. Why pick a bleeding Saturday(Friday UK time) for site maintenance!!! What's wrong with say Monday or Tuesday when we don't want to get on! Could it be the extra Aussie traffic is overloading things??? Noticed also in their forum, they have had numerous complaints about the overall speed of the site. I guess this is why the site is being upgraded. |

Betfair have issued an apology to customers over the service problem last Saturday - apparantly their "load balancer" failed and the backup procedure also failed.
As compensation they are not charging any commission on Australain Racing this Saturday or next Tuesday. They are covering Mooney Valley (I assume both meetings), Canterbury, Doomben and Cheltenham tomorrow.
