![]() I know I put up a lot of stuff on here and hopefully it's more beneficial than an annoyance in most cases, BUT don't hold that against me !!!!! SO .....
..... How does one back a first up winner ????? Trackwork and trials - where's the info, especially private training tracks? First up record? Just simply back a horse first up over 1400 that up in the top half of the weights? It's easy to mount an argument for the fitness of a horse that's had a few runs back, but how do we figure out when a horse is ready to fire first up? Or is this mission impossible from the couch at home? |

![]() Tough question to answer Barny.
Apart from a horses 1st up record as to how, Fit a horse is and if it's forward enough is a raffle. Trainer would know as would the trackwork rider. The best way which unfortunately i can't do or, Have the knowledge is to look at them in the mounting yard. An art i have no idea about. I gave up years ago even doing horses 1st up form, And just left it at this. (If it opens 1st FAV) (or firms at some stage in, The betting) providing it rates ok is an overlay etc, I will back it. Unless one of those two things happen i will pass. Really unless you go on previous 1st up form, Which is a guide i just rely on the market, But even then there is a million things that come into it. The other way is just to avoid those races as really it's a guess (imo) Cheers. |
