An enjoyable day Weetwood day, hopefully another nice one today -

Bush Triumph - Gold Coast horse with 6 wins and 4 seconds from 18 starts. Ran very well last start and is proven stayer. Drawn perfectly and with Dean Tanti aboard will be very hard to knock off. Going for fourth straight win. Won only start on track, and won two from two in wet (one dead, one slow).

Kugelhopf - Another Gold Coast horse. Very good 4 3/4 len win over Brave Tattler last start. With the forecast for showers and track rated as slow on Friday afternoon, this horse loves the slop (place 5 of 9 in wet. Won only start on track. Down in weights here. If can overcome wide barrier, will be a huge danger.

Awesome Weather - Good horse, won Ipswich Cup last year, was checked severely after start last run, finished 1/4 len 3rd to Forgings Lad. Has not run on the track or at the distance, but has won over 2120, 2150,2153. Placed 4 from 8 on dead tracks. Big chance.

Brave Tattler - Trained by very astute Tba trainer Rex Lipp, pulled all the way and was given big lead, before being run down by Kugelhopf by 4-3/4 len in Cup prelude March 15. If settles better today is a chance at long odds (50-1). Placed 4 from 6 on track, and 5 from 7 on wet tracks.

Deer Hill - Won well last Sat. by 2 len over Riva Rebel (2200m). Trained by Bruce McLachlan but has ordinary barrier as downside. Has not raced on the track but has won 1 from 2 on slow going. A definite chance in this.

Others with wet form -

Midnight Warrior
Auld Hat
Hurry Hurry

Last years winner Regal Tycoon is a chance after 3/4 len 4th to Forgings lad last start -has struck interference last two starts.

Other picks for the day -

MR 2 - 4 La Sirenuse**
BR 7 - 9 Blaze a Fortune
SR 3 - 9 Bello Signor
AR 5 - Intrepid Astronaut (roughie)

Good Punting all,
Cheers,
Cosmo.

A great win by Kugelhopf, with local horse Midnight Deal almost pinching it. Fantastic run by Bush Triumph for 3rd.

Kugelhopf will now be aimed for the Prime Ministers Cup, the O'shea Stakes and Brisbane Cup. If it's a wet winter this horse could take some trophies home during Brisbane Carnival.

Bush Triumph, likely to contest the Easter Cup at Eagle Farm on April 19. Follow this horse closely, it will be winning again.

An enjoyable day, hope all had a win.

Cheers,
Cosmo

4 Kugelhopf $6.80..$2.50
9 Midnight Deal $10.00
13 Bush Triumph $2.20
2 Deerhill

Quinella - $199.40
Trifecta - $1418.50
First 4 - $13827.20
