Making Book on Betfair?
I was very interested to see if somebody could give me an idea in how to potentially make a book on Betfair. That is I did read somewhere along the way in one thread that someone said he laid horses and made a book as per bookmaker. But I am confused how to go about that. Where would you start? Pick a particular type/size of race, favourite in a particular price rage? Then what? start by laying something that seems a reasonable price and works on from there haphazardly? By that I mean any horse at a price not too high, (4.00~11.00 range). That seems like taking chances that these are going to be bet by others. Would you being trying to lay a number of runners at same time? Very confused about all this. Any information and ideas would be a good talking point.

My thoughts on an approach.
offer odds at the tote or worse odds early on the top 5 selections. If any get taken then adjust your other prices slightly upwards to get matched. If using software this is quite easy and you could offer odds on all selections and make adjustments easily and quickly. You will not be able to make a book without the right software because it will send through a heap of bets at once to green up a lot quicker then you could do it using the web front end. |

Use the search engine and type in "Mark".

Eddy, the neurals allows one to make a book on every race.
Framing markets from the neurals on the Racing and Sports website can be very versatile, for example the market percentage can be set at less than 100%. However the prices can be quite puzzling because it seems some of the algorithym categories are extremely generous whilst others miserly. If you're not familiar with the neurals it might not be a bad idea to do so. |

Mark added some interesting stuff in this thread about making a book.
