API-NG - Anyone using this at betfair?
Has anyone written a bot for the API-NG version at betfair?
I'm looking for anyone I can communicate with by email or here to just help answer some questions on the new API. Its got terrible documentation and a whole heap of new features (which will be good to use) that I need clarification on. I know I need to upgrade my existing API6 bots so decided I would learn the new API-NG by writing a bot to try out Chrome Princes system for sports. If you have any tips for this API please let me know before I get too far into the coding. |

Apparently you can code the API NG in many different languages.
There are example snippets of code, but it was way over my head, I'm more database construction than coding, but it did seem to be lacking a LOT of information. I also wanted to get a list of filtered events in time order, only match odds markets and sort them in time order etc. As the navigation kills me. Good luck with it, I hope someone else replies.

I already do your above filtering in API 6 and it works well. APING looks like it has even better searching though so that will help for how I want to use it. What would be great though is to be able to seasrch for markets between X and Y times with Z matched. You can do X and Y but not Z |

I'm pretty sure you can get a list in time order also.
Perhaps your bot can look at market percentages and x matched in order to actually put the lay part on. I know in Gruss you can build a triggered spreadsheet that can look at market percentage and x amount matched. However, I went a different way. I look at tick difference between back and lay sides. If there's only one tick difference, for all selections, chances are a decent amount has been matched and market percentage is less than 102%. Hope that helps. Sticking purely to match odds markets in major events only, helps a great deal.

The problem is with the free API you only get so many markets a minute which sucks but understandable. I monitor so many sports at the moment I am pushing the limits of the free API. I need to be in a lot of the "smaller" markets as they offer such a substantial edge because all of you big hitters ignore them. |
