(4) SCOTTISH PRIDE - has the early pace to overcome a slightly awkward draw. Nicely weighted and has an excellent record over the 1200m.
(14) STORMCAT ACADEMY - likely to get back in the field from a wide draw but does love this track & distance. (5) ATHELNOTH - nicely weighted & well drawn. Should race on the pace & has a good second-up record. (11) MAITLAND GOLD - well drawn & likes this track. Handles any conditions. Could surprise at good odds first-up. |

Not a bad field of sprinters for a Winter's day at Gosford Mr Josh
Should be plenty of speed on with the likes of LIBIDINIOUS, MARWIN GOLD, SHAGS, CHESTER COUNTY, HURRICANE STROLLER, JIVAGO, SIR CANNY, SUNBURNT BOY and ISLA KRISTINA (if it gets a run) all running around in this race. Have a bit of a liking for no. 6 BRITT'S BEST EW. Hasn't got a flash 1200m record but has been freshened up since an unplaced fav in the Scone Cup. Should sit mid field from a good draw and be pelting home at the business end. The locally trained no. 16 UMBHANI might be suited by the likely tempo of the race. Agree with you RJ, no. 5 ATHELNOTH a good chance. From a good draw should sit just behind the pace and be running on strongly. Also like your outsider RJ, no. 11 MAITLAND GOLD. Hasn't shown her best for some time, understand injury problems. Would be a top show anywhere near her best. Good luck and good punting

With a slow track I like (4) Scottish Pride, from (1) Libidinious and (2) Marwin Gold. My value selection is (13) Sportsbrat.
