Hi Folks
Haven't posted for a while but got a bee in my bonnet again after listening to the sport 927 race caller waxing lyrical about the dividend for the quadrella at Moe. He declared it was a boomer of a dividend,$196,000. Strange thing is there was only $122,000 in the pool before the TAB took their 20%. This DECEPTION has been going on for years whereby there is only 1 live 50 cent unit and the TAB declares the dividend for a $1-00 investment meaning that they declare double that which is actually paid out. If this is not false advertising (if you could call it that) then I've never heard it. |

I know and you know that it is the dividend for $1-00. It still broadcasts to the masses, the impression that a punter has won $196,000 on the quadrella. This impression could have the effect of dragging in more players based on a false premise. In this case and a lot of others, it is 50% of the truth. |

An Afterthought.
Maybe in the future when quadrella dividends such as this are declared, the racecaller or anyone else responsible for relaying the dividends over the air, should take it upon themselves to state the amount in the pool. All doubt about the actual amount won and any suspicion about deception is then removed. I am not suggesting for 1 minute that a race caller or others relaying tote dividends over the air, are setting out to deliberately deceive the public. |

So far hasn't been deleted so will say a bit more.
A while ago I was working on a first 4 system going off the results published. Mainly midweek and provincials and on my calcs was showing good profits with a large bet but doing it for a %. It was basically a lotto type system with a SET betting pattern in each race I wewnt into. I went to a lot of meetings to do dry runs, but noticed the pools on the monitor and nothing added up because the pool sizes to advertised divs. I totally agree that it is blatant misrepresentation and should be corrected. How many other people have spent months working out a SYSTEM on tris first4s and quadies to no avail because of the advertised divs. Cheers |
