Well, what actually happened??? Can someone tell me, because I didn't get to see or hear any of the racing from Sydney on Saturday and this morning on radiotab there were all these complaints about the Kensington track.

Personally, I'm certainly not complaining. I had a great day's betting there!!! And it's not as if 100-1 shots were coming home all day. The vast majority of races were won by well fancied horses.

ron dufficy described it as a debacle.

most races were won down the outside with some horses not having room for a run due to horses in front being on the outside fence.
horses appeared to get bogged down near the inside .
also races being shortened was a factor as some of the winners would have lost over the 1200 metre distances exceed and excel and sportsman (possibly)
i thought it looked terrible and ron dufficy apparently thought so too.
as for the heat in some areas. trainers are able to scratch (or are they?) if they think the heat is unsafe.

i am not complaining about results as many of the races were won by good horses although i think in the case of thorn park the track made it difficult.

Yes, trainers can scratch their horses because of heat, but apparently some of them didn't know that.

yes the Duff was spot on it was a disgrace . it sems the track is very sandy and from the rails out to mid track it shifts underfoot and horses are bogged down, like you running on soft sand at the beach compared to a firm grass track, just a bad thing for racing and sydney is about the worst. 20years ago it was tops what has gone wrong ?

What has gone wrong?, I think you'll find the answer in another thread, "racing decline". It has 3 letters, starts with T & ends in B. For years it has been cooking the golden goose, ah, just about done.
