I have developed a computer ratings system for AFL,but it is letting me down.
I now realize what is going wrong.
My computer program crunches up the numbers from previous results without any input as to who is playing who on a personal level.
For example ratings might be like this:

Collingwood 85
Carlton 75
Essendon 100

What I usually do is just subtract the ratings from each other, with a bonus or penalty for the ground advantage, and that is my predicted margin.
Next year I am going to rate the players and then tally up their individual ratings to give a final team rating. This will hopefully take care of the ins and outs.
And to further enhance the accuracy,I will look at the match-ups to try and find the upsets and the blowouts that seem to occur well over 50% of the time.

Do you put your computer outside if it looks like rain so you know to adjust your start
the lions would have won by a bit more if they didnt spend all after noon making mud pies and kicking a muddy phone book around
cheers
P.S. On another note I was watching one of those romanian sheilas on the parallel bars
and after she"d finished her routine,I said to my wife ,I dont rate that landing she'll only score 9.375/10.What do you think the score was ,yep,9.375(playing in the background quietly is the theme music from twilight zone)

Hawthorn seemed to know which posts were the ones to aim at.Admittedly they didn't have quite as many shots at them.
Stay home on Sunday Rabbitz and don't ruin a nice fine sunny day watching the Lions get tamed.
No twilight zone here but some vigorous attention seeking from the Vibe ringing in my ears.
