Little Imagele, a four time stakes winner in Perth including a win in the 1981 Group One Western Mail Classic (Fruit ‘n’ Veg Stakes).
And yes, spot on, son of Imagele. |

Well I'll be darned. I thought he was a gelding.
I have fond memories of Imagele. Think he was by Sostenuto. (or his dam was). My other favourites from around this time were Baguette and Zambari to name a couple. |

Yep Sostenuto from Cele's Image, who was certainly no slouch on the track.
Don't recall much about Baguette (bit before my punting time) but did read somewhere that he was part of the Dark Jewel dynasty which included the likes of Heirloom, Birthright and Cabochon. Some family! |

Been racking my brain trying to remember Baguette's sire.
Believe he was out of Dark jewel. Baguette was by Rego. (courtesy of Just Racing) Baguette was unbeaten as a 2yo. and in total won 15 races including a Newmarket Hcp., Doomben 10,000. Baguette produced 19 stakes winners at stud. According to "Just Racing", Baguette, his son Crown Jester and Grand son, Rory's Jester, only finished further back than 2nd. once in all their combined 2yo starts. Another interesting statistic is that Rory's Jester is currently 3rd. on the Australian brood mare's sire list behind Marscay and Riverman. The Dark Jewl dynasty certainly lives on.
