Default Get On Early

Early Docaster markets have Stamen at 126/1, i am extremely confident he is being aimed for this race by Moorhouse, he is a trainer who doesn't mess around entering his horses for every race under the sun, he picks his races and sticks to them. His prizemoney (almost 300,000) should be sufficent to gain him a start already and he hasn't even started his prep. He also hasn't won at group level (albeit hasn't raced) so should be weighted very close to the minimum. In his 18 starts he has been run passed by only one horse in the straight (Striking Victory at Flemington after a hampered run), 50% winning strike rate, a lot of these with biggish weights. He gets back in his races but the speed should be furious this year with Dance Hero being set, possibly Regal Roller, he really gets home hard and after his terrific spring where for the first time he started to put things together he should come back in wonderful order. The class factor is always the query but I have had a good dip at him E/W (no guts no glory right?). Any thoughts? other early tips.

Cheers ED

Mr.Ed, he finished on a real high last prep. At those odds well worth throwing a few bob on him.

On my figures he would have to find a new level to win the Doncaster. He is an extremely consistent horse, but the ratings he has achieved so far won't win a Doncaster.

It is not impossible that he will find the new level of course, it is just that they don't really tend to do it as five year olds.

Good luck though. Not saying he can't win, for the record, I like the horse, always do like horses like him, I just know that if he doesn't find a new level he'll fall short. If he finds a new level, he can win.

Duritz.

Yeah, I've backed him in a few of his wins. Love the way he storms home, but like Duritz, I don't know that he's quite classy enough to win a Doncaster. Good luck with it though.

I think he could be short of the class to win a doncaster, but having said that 126-1 isetty good odds.I think binding or spikes could be the go

He definately needs to find a new level, he's was probably a few lengths short being a really good horse last prep. He is still only lightly raced though for a 5yo and i think their could be some improvement left in him. I also like lightweight horses who storm home in these big races. When i say a good go at 126/1 it doesn't really hurt the bank to much to have a big go, if he starts i will be chuffed, if he runs a drum i'll be elated. if he wins ecstatic. Now i just want him to start racing, i thought the 1100m WFA at Morphettville saturday would have been ideal first up. Sportz, no he hasn't run around the Sydney way hopefully he loves it.
