Track currently rated fast, although some rain around.
Race 6 no. 4 Konjo Beaten fav in city last start. Likes Northam. Only query distance may be a bit short. Danger no. 1 Mais Dinero, also likes Northham. Race 7 Many chances. Try no. 6 Old Boomer, danger no. 9 London Palladium. Only bet if there is value. Race 8 no. 7 Damascus Diva. All the better for 2 runs after a long spell. Danger no. 9 Jameson, should be value.

Apologies sandgroper, I wasn't bagging your selections, just the selection of races.
Firstly, I would never bet on a race where I considered there to be "many chances". Secondly, I would never bet midweek. Good luck at Ascot. |

Placegetter, Why not bet mid week? I am curious as I have found that you can get some good value on midweek races (my best days are generally Wednesdays and Fridays although yesterday was not so good - just over breakeven with only 3 winners for the day). Obviously you have to be careful and avoid certain races but there are still some great opportunities (well in my opinion anyway). |

Hi becareful,
I never tell anyone else not to bet midweek, it's just something I never do. My comment says "I would never bet midweek". Three reasons: 1. I like watching quality races. I actually like racing, as well as the winning money thing that seems to happen. 2. Time. I already spend a lot of time going over the weekends races, forming opinions on races that were run and won etc(no, I'm not into videos, I don't even have a TV). More races would mean more time, and I'm not prepared to give it. 3. When I first started, I was rabid. I could pick plenty of paying selections, but coupled with the chaff, I was lucky to be even. Getting rid of the midweek races helps me concentrate my efforts. If you have the inclination to bet midweek, go for it and good luck. Placegetter |

Placegetter,
I realise you were not saying that other people should not bet midweek - I was just curious as to your reasons to see if there was anything I was missing! I can certainly relate to your point 2 - it is bl**dy hard to fit in a normal job, this racing game and family life into a week. Hopefully I will soon be able to give up the job and sit on the beach betting via the internet  |

I did actually think about going down the "quality" side of the argument, but I practically never look at the midweek races, so I really wouldn't know. If you can find a selection that you are 98% confident of paying, who cares whether it's Saturday at Flemington or Tuesday at Northam (wherever that is).
Regarding you sitting on the beach making your selections, forget it. I have found cellular technology to be too expensive with my laptop, so I just use my office PC and then hit the beach once I'm done. |

No need for cellular links - I'll just use a wireless network connection back to my house overlooking the beach
PS. I don't know where Northam is either - I only bet East Coast/SA- I don't bother with WA/Tas/NT. |
