Rule 1: Eliminate races run on heavy tracks and races restricted to apprentice jockeys.
Rule 2: Consider only those horses which finished 2nd in each of its last three starts. Rule 3: Last start <=56 days. Rule 4: Eliminate any who are to be ridden by a claiming apprentice. In the UK from 1995 to 2004, this system gave 483 selections for 137 winners (28.36%) for a profit of 114.36 units (23.68%). |

The UK is completely different to here. 3 seconds in a row suggests a non-winner & the type of horse I like to lay. |

Speaking as someone who knows nothing about racing in the UK to someone who it appears does, what in broad terms is the difference, I'd be interested to know. KV |

The results were for when the horse was backed, not layed.
