Yeah, get used to it. It's going to happen more often. $2.40 was brilliant odds on England, thank you very much. Surely we won't see that again.
Personally, I wouldn't have had Kasprowicz in the one day team in the first place. I would have had Tait or Bracken. As for Gillespie, I don't know what's going on there. He's a far better bowler than that. McGrath bowled well and look at the way he bowled at the death. Perfect line and right up in the blockhole. Pieterson couldn't clout him all over the place. All we needed was one out of Kasper and Gillespie to bowl as well as they can do and we would probably have won.
The one shining light was Hussey with the bat. Again, no surprise there. His record in England is amazing with numerous double and triple centuries. English people are stunned that he isn't in our test side, and I think we'll regret the decision to only pick him for one-dayers. In one day games, he bats exactly the same way as Bevan used to except that he can score a bit quicker right from the start. I'm certain he could be successful in Tests as well.
Interesting to note that England's best test batsman (Strauss) and their best one-day batsman (Pieterson) are both South Africans.
