Default Doomben Races Saturday

Race 1.
An interesting race this one...theres alot of inconsistant horses here that on there day can pull the big run out of the bag
..the hard part is finding which one tomorrow..
Looks genuine speed in this with Aerosol and Danefull,,,both will want the lead and there pattern is to try and steal it around the corners here at Doomben..,,cant see them stacking this field up like they'd want to..and they'll probably spoil it for themselves..
Soul Diva with the Bikietin form lines and the good barrier looks the safest bet here from the good barrier and the good jock... i didnt mind Marlene Gaye who races best 2nd up and although has had probs with injury i guess she seems to be on track with a solid performance first up at the Coast last start.....Two Dancers looks the improver,,didnt like the wet last start and has the gear change as he overraced alot last start,,but he hasnt beaten much yet and i'm prepared to watch him...Poopy Power with the same form lines as Soul Diva is a chane as she only has to produce the same run as last start to figure in this..I still thought Soul Diva has more scope than her though,,...
Soul Diva looks the safe bet but would want a price ..If Marlene Gaye looks the goods tomorrow i'll be on both or just her e/w if the Diva is to short.....
The rest mentioned for the multis and dont leave out Dorrin Donna who isnt hopeless..
Race 2.
An interesting little speed race this...the top 3 the obvious with not much between them..A few in this race outside the top 3 that with their light weight might try and lead this.....I thought Maxy legs with the ability to run on or race handy and fresh with the gun jock looks the best value...Naval Seal will be right in this with the freshn and finally the good barrier..A little Naughty want have it her own way in this but still to good to leave out...a roughie that could place Private Frisco ...
Maxy Legs ..
Race 3.
All the rage is Go Sequalo but i'm prepared to take him on at that price...Mono Mac and Plachutta both interest me..Mono was butchered last start and should have finished alot closer ,,,I like this little Morris ,,he rides them well and gives them every chance..with the weight drop he brings this horse in with a great chance but i worry the last 50m or so......I like Plachutta ,,this horse has had no luck the last couple and hasnt liked the wetish tracks,,on the good tomorrow at a better distance,,from the good barrier with one of the best young horse riders in the country aboard...to hard for to go past for me.....
Plachutta at nice odds...Go Sequalo / Mono Mac / threechances
Race 4.
Open race this one...My Son day impressive last start with the big weight...loses that this time but up in class..Line By Line suited better this distance but up in class aswell..but then again they all are..
I didnt mind Bold Reasons last run..just never got a run at all down the striaght but just not sure over the 1350m but Cahill and the trainer get respect..,,,Charvicky at odds with the freshn can certainly run on from the back here...Nasrullahs Girl was super last start from the awkward barrier,,gets a worse barrier this time but has the barrier speed to find a position...
I'm a Colless fan so i'll be leaning Linebylines way ....Bold reason worth a speck as well...pay to go wide with the multis in this race...
Race 5.
Good old Classic KArla...has cost me a fortune this prep...this is his race though...fantastic run last start and capable against this opposition to race more handier....Bikie Tin Blues is just flying and you 'd have give him a chance.. King Latarmiss was solid last start,,(needs it wet though) Maizy May was solid last start..Rampant Lion/ Motivate and Seven Crownies all worthy.....Classic Karla will just love this opposition,,,racing very well this prep with no luck at all..deserves a win tomorrow
Classic Karla.....tri with Bikie and Rampant..
Race 6.
Not a fan of this race at all...will probably give it a miss...VIscay Star rates the highest ,,raced well last start and races better 2nd up..winner here at the distance....Western Brace is tough and from the inside will give cheek...and good old Beamer a fav who beat Viscay this distance and was worse off with the weight...great to see him win this on his 101st start..Lillabiddy quickened nicely last start and worth keeping safe ,,,
Viscay Star if any value ,,,e/w on the Old Boy Beamer...
Race 7.
Shysu and Sanfranfrisco rate on top of Panzer,Saint Angelo and Testify....
I think here at Doomben Shysu just gets the nod..will be suited by the good track and from the ideal barrier will be hard to catch,,San fran with the freshn is racing better than ever and the big danger...good exacta.
Panzer is racing very well but the weight is the problem...interesting they didnt claim here ,,Kastidis in the form hes in is worth a few kilos anyway...
Shysu on top..though i doubt any value for either Shysu and Sanfran...if thats the case Panzer e/w looks a better bet..
Race 8.
Birthday Bash is going along nicely...not suited last start in the wet but against this lot is a big show..can handle the weight and has the master on board....Hamah is inconsistant but a chance from the back..Feelin Dandy and Stoodup both worthy of a mention..
Birthday Bash.. Hamah (exacta)

Best bets,,, Maxy Legs, Classic Karla, Shysu, Birthday Bash
Best e/ws... Marlene Gaye, Plachutta, Panzer
Best Longie... Beamer, Bold Reason,

Like a few tomorrow...hoping it stays dry although there is a few rain clouds around tonight.....(rain would be nice but tomorrow night please)

Other state selections
Sydney
Shes Commanding, Rose Cutter, Purple Dane, Fangio
Melbourne
Dandy Kid (illusionist exacta), Future Analysis
Adelaide
Bold Giggle
Belmont
All Keyed Up, Interange, Field Commander
Horsham
Zedimbi
Kembla
Sydney City
Toowoomba
Private Frisco, Tuscan Jazz

A stack of potential runners tomorrow...but scratchings track conditions and prices cull a few..

Good Luck all

I was going to give it a miss this week as far as posting the tips starting to wonder if I am jinxing myself by putting them up here

Brisbane
Race 3: I don't mind the form surrounding Injebreck here I would think that if he could get to his best he can easily win this might be a run short he is bred to get over further than this would think he would get to atleast a mile if the go along at a good clip then he will go close

Race 5: Don't like this race much very hard to sort out I thought however that What A Guy was a good chance as an e/w proposition the 17 gate the only spoiler but I like Scriven being on board he is a strong rider and I think this horse needs that. IMO if Bikkie Tin Blues handles the step up he will be very hard to hold out as will Classic Karla, roughies Ultimate Command, Listen Pal and Argyle Lass (I have just done a Larry Olsen and named half the field being a chance)

Race 6: I agree with Mav here however I really liked Viscay Star has the right racing pattern for this track and with the claim he gets in nicely should go close to box seating here and might just prove hard to get past thought King's Coup might be the danger was a great run last start just depends how much that took out of him.

Race 7: alot of chances here not sure which one I really like will wait and see what odds come up before I choose a horse. Panzer, San Franfrisco, Testify, Hialeah Star & Suubird are the ones I am trying to sort out with the claim San Franfrisco has to be close to winning but I wouldn't be taking stupid odds about it certainly no lower than 5-1 after that I probably rank Suubird next if it gets around the 7or10-1 mark then I may settle there.

Melbourne
Race 7: I amnot going write off the chances of Helter Skelter here big chance I reckon not sure about the jockey though have seen him win races before but never taken much notice of how strong a jockey he is, Apian Way was the other I thought might be a little bit of value.

Sydney
Race 2: She's Commanding has to be a chance she reads as if she should handle the track alright and being out of a palace music mare she should handle it certainly racing as if she is close to a win.

Race 3: Always liked Ready As and I wouldn't be surprised if he does something here just hasn't come back since his 2yo races he has won a trial coming into this though so maybe they have ironed a few things out.

Race 7: I liked Hunter Concorde here but the field has been decimated with scratchings not sure what sort of price will come up about this if it gets anywhere near double figures I will have a bet.

Adelaide
Race 5: Thought there was a bit of a roughie here that could run a race in Elegant Eagle by Zabeel and had a nice win last start this race isn't that strong so wouldn't be surprised if a something gets up with some odds about it here didn't mind Same Tone either. A friend of mine has said that Londo is unbeatable

Race 6: I like a couple here Potent Mix who looks to have a bit of ability and On my Mind who should be suited by the drop back in distance I am leaning towards Potent Mix right now.

Hey all,

Not a bad day at Doomben today, hope the rain stays away though. We need it up here, but its really ruins the racing. Some pretty decent races, the quality has really tapered off though, as expected.

Race 1 - Aerosol, Soul Diva, Two Dancers

Like Aerosol here. He doesn't win out of turn, but he'll get on speed and give a really good show around Doomben. It was a bold effort last time around the Sunny Coast with its long straight and if he can get a kick around the turn today, i think he's a big chance. Soul Diva is a great chance, particularly with the form around Bikkie Tin Blues. Byrne will give her a great ride from the 6 alley too. Two Dancers is a horse on the way up who isn't without a chance here either. Probably didn't handle the track last time and so you can forget that run. The form prior to that is very good, especially for a race like this.

Race 2 - Maxy Legs, Naval Seal, Picture Book

Tough little race this one. I agree with Mav on Maxy Legs. She'll get back a bit out of the speed battle up front and should give her the last shot at them. She has run some great times around this track/distance and so from the 4 alley at nice-ish odds, she'll do me. Naval Seal will appreciate the easier class here, after running into Becks and Starlactic recently. He'll get right on the speed, especially from the 2 alley, and prove tough to run down. The freshen helps him too. Picture Book can surprise every now and then too. 1000m is his trip, so i wouldn't be discounting him at odds.

Race 3 - Go Sequalo, Falconten, Stipulation

Theres a few jumping off Go Sequalo today, im just not prepared to do it against this lot. He has the form on the board with good wins at Ippy and then EF in pretty good time/company. With the reasonable draw and the gun jockey, i think he's the one they need to beat. I wouldn't be putting my last on it, but then again, i'm not really a fan of fav's in 2yo races. Falconten won in good style last time at Toowoomba and the time was OK too. The way he finished off seems to indicate he'll appreciate the 1200m too. The only thing against is the fact that the Doomben straight is short, but there should be enough speed on for him. Stipulation is a first starter from the Maund camp sho bears watching. Strange that they've chosen this race, because from memory this stable gives them one or two before they bring them to town, at least later in the season, anyway.

Race 4 - My Son Day, Daneland, Kanpeki

Pretty tough here. Its not the greatest field of 3yos you'll ever see and so i think My Son Day should be able to get away with it. It was a top with last time at Ippy but he hasn't been able to reproduce those good runs in town. Maybe today is the day. Daneland has been racing in lesser company but has been racing with plenty of weight. With the drop to 53kgs today, don't be surprised if he is flying late. The 1350 will suit him too, by the looks of it. Kanpeki is a chance too, i suppose. Has run some good races in and around the place, but like many of the others, hasn't been able to do it on the saturday. Maybe in this easier field, she can produce the goods...the claim is nice too.

Race 5 - Bikkie Tin Blues, Classic Karla, Seven Crownies

Well Bikkie Tin Blues is tough to miss here. Although the record over the 2000m is pretty ordinary, that was achieved down south. While he has been up here, he has flourished so i see no reason he won't win again. The 1 alley is just a luxury, i would've had him on top from the outside. Classic Karla is down in the weights for a race like this for the first time in a while and must be given a chance there. Hasn't won for a while though, which is an issue for me. Seven Crownies was a good win last time, after apparently being trapped deep, and so if he hasn't been flattened by the run, is a chance again. Not the greatest race, especially considering its the start of the treble, but thats life.

Race 6 - Generalissimo, Appertain, Top Marc

Speaking of ordinary races, here is one right now. Most of these are well and truly over the hill. Maybe Generalissimo in front of Appertain and Top Marc. But thats all i got.

Race 7 - My Best Tycoon, San Franfrisco, Panzer

This is a good race though. I like My Best Tycoon. Has been running really well lately and has the luxury of going up in journey rather than stepping back like many of the others. From the 2 alley, should just sit behind them and pull out near the top of the straight and hopefully be too strong. San Franfrisco is dropping back from 1200m which isn't ideal, especially when he has won 6 at 1200m, but he isn't hopeless here on the back of some great runs...especially in the Eye-Liner. The 4 alley tops it all off for him, too. Panzer is a game old fellow who seems to bob up every now and again in races like this, so leave him out at your own peril.

Race 8 - Feelin Dandy, Birthday Bash, Hamah

Well Feelin Dandy should win this. Getting so much weight off Birthday Bash is the clincher. I can't see BB conceding 7.5kgs and still beating this bloke, assuming he backs up OK. The win last time was very good and so from the 2 alley, he'll just get on pace and give them all something to catch. Birthday Bash is the quality horse in the race, but he has been weighted like it. He can beat the rest of them, but i can't see him getting past Feelin Dandy. Hamah is a non-winner but the rest of them are too. I've settled on him because thats where the dart landed.

Not a bad day today, hope you all have a good one.

Sven

Well I saved myself most of my Sydney and Melbourne bets infact never backed anything I had picked on here either the odds were terrible or I didn't like what was happening with the track.

The only runner I backed in Sydney was actually Megabucks e/w and if Angland could have kept the horse straight then maybe it could have gotten up not sure about that but atleast I got my money back with the placing anyway.

Brisbane was terrible for me bar one race and that was a very good result I backed Injebreck it was awful, had a bit on What A Guy was to far back and far to wide turning not that sort of a horse he needs to be held up for one run at them in the straight, Didn't put anywhere near what I had planned on Viscay Star and in the end that was great far to many people were tipping it then last of all Suubird well I have given you my comments here already was my biggest bet of the day e/w and well the $7.20 it paid for the place was a great result however the $32 it was paying for the win would have been sensational just couldn't get to the line quick enough.

Only had one bet in Adelaide that was Elegant Eagle expected far better odds didn't back it e/w and thought it was a bit unlucky had trouble finding an opening turning and really hit the line well just might be worth following that one.

All in all a pretty good day where I cut right back on my bets because of the very wet tracks outside of brissie and it worked out pretty well for me even though I didn't back a winner I still ended up quite a bit infront.

Race 1.
Well the race went to plan....No value at all..Soul Diva to short and even Marlene Gaye 2.60 for the place was unders....easy trifecta but at $30 not worth trying ..
Race 2.
No value again in this race...always going to be the top 3 ,,so another easy trifecta..,,Little Naughty at 5's was surprisingly good value..i thought Naval and Naughty would be the shorties but there was a big push for Maxy Legs and ran on nicely..
Race 3.
I was confident with Plachutta ,,a bit shorter than i was hoping but he never figured at all...jumped poorly and just never travelled at all...couldnt find any excuses but i'll be looking alittle harder at the video .....
loss
Race 4.
Linebyline was unlucky ,,but you could see it happening when they started to fan around the bend,...i thought Colless was caught alittle in dream land there and then had nowhere to go,,,,inconclusive the run but it was a dissapointing ride by one of my fav jocks..
loss
Race 5.
Very confident with Classic Karla ,,,,even when the 1st race franked Bikies form.....ran on well for 2nd but Bikie is in that rare form a horse can get into at times...where does he go now ?? youd be racing it again if there was even something remotely suitable...maybe Coffs ?
got some of the 1st4 here so not to bad...but had Maizy as a good place chance and should of been alittle smarter with the trifecta,,
Race 6.
Had a little e/w on beamer for fun....didnt like the race but after giving western brace a good chance and at those odds i should have been on...
silly boy
Race 7.
Panzer (4th) e/w after Shysu was to short...thought JB rode a shocker on Shysu ...dont know why he didnt take the sit,,the horse has shown she can run on but he was all guns blazing and committed suicide...Panzer was ok with the weight...
loss again
Race 8.
Birthday Bash..i was confident he could carry the weight but got it wrong...Well done Sven who got it right...easy trifecta to get,,but again i was on the Birthday Bash bandwagon...
another loss

Shocker in Brissie....got hammered...some of the 1st4 was nice but not enough to stop the bleeding..

Belmont
All Keyed up...wohooo a win ,,needed this,,,
Interange...thought i had it ...beaten by a nose
Field Commander...loss
atleast a small win over in the west..

Melbourne
Future Analasys...woohooo a good win and my best result of the day...nice multi results...
Dandy Kid..to wet for the old boy..illusionist to short for me...
a good result in Melbourne

Adelaide
Bold Giggle..tried hard for 3rd...
Loss

Sydney.
To wet no bet....thought Purple dane and especially Fangio ran very well considering they dont like the surface.....fangio just loves the track,,
To wet everywhere else...

In summary....a shocker in Brissie a good result in Melbourne ...
a loss for the day but nothing drastic.....first loss on a Saturday for ages...cant win them all but did it have to happen this close after the Grafton debacle..
oh well i'll live to fight another day...

hope you guys had a win or 2..
well done Sven ..a few winners there would have kept you out of trouble..

Just a few i noticed:

Race 3 Falconten i think if it races at eagle farm it will suit it alot more than doomben, got to far back and not enough room to wind up in the short straight, should be a good value chance next time it races.

Race 4 Frozen got trapped in behind i think the second place horse and had to halt its run just when it was getting wound up, might not have won but would have given it a good shake if it got through when it needed to.

Race 5 Please someone shoot Motivate so i wont back it anymore.

Race 6 Top marc got way way to far back and to come from where he did and weave between horses to finish so close i think has to win one soon (although weve been saying that for a while).
